Received change from a small purchase at a local C store today, took a closer look at the dime I got--because it looked odd--and discovered that was a dime all right, but it was an 1876 "Seated Liberty" dime.

Where the heck did that come from, I wonder?

I gave it to Ellen.

Old money is cool! Since I'm no expert, I checked on eBay and depending on the grading and minting, it's worth anywhere from $2-$142.00 (which was this auction: http://cgi.ebay.com/1876-CC-SEATED-LIBERTY-DIME-VF-NO-RESERVE_W0QQitemZ260199761383QQihZ016QQcategoryZ11958QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem )

Ellen would be good to hang onto it for at least the next 20 years. :)

Don't blame Brew, he's beaten regualarly at home by the Mosaic lady and takes it out on us! ;)

My dad used to collect coins. His collection included lots of rare special edition coins. When he passed away, we decided to keep the collection, so we still have it right there where he left it. :)
