I wish I could have one of those cameras with the fast speed like the one of the snow blower. For me it would take several years just to get through the book that comes with it to turn it on. sigh... :-[

Keep taking the pics Mel...one day you'll be as good as Paul(Vig) and need to buy new shoes for the pics. lol

Adam, thank you so much! I have been waiting ever so patiently for something to keep me occupied until the bean gets here. :)

Linda, I don't know if I wanna actually put my feet into my pictures. Pauls feet are nice looking, mine are just pudgy, lol. Honestly though, about the camera, it is extremely user friendly and has a quick shutter speed. I think I had it set on automatic, so I didn't need to do any adjusting.

I'm going to definately get some pics in this week and will post some more, just to get it out of my system! I'm sure it'll drive everyone here nuts! ;;D

No way Mel will it drive us nuts...you keep posting pics of all that snow and your family and anything else that suits your fancy.

I've seen your feet...they're just as nice as Pauls. Except he doesn't paint his nails. ;)

Of course...Slather on some glitter and get creative with that camera.

My son is a graphic designer. I've seen the pics in his camera. One was of bubble wrap against a blue background. Another was of a spider web with the sun shining to the side. It was inspiring to see through his eyes what can be done if you just look at things with a totally different viewpoint. A rusty old truck in a junk-yard..a tree that lost all it's leaves in fall and now with icicles hanging from them. When you get better at it you can frame them and sell them on E-bay too.

The sky's the limit Mel. :-*

They're hazel Kevin, and actually mine are hazel too. Oh, and I am in LOVE with the idea of Ava's little baby feet! I'm going to definately do a bunch of shots of that!!

Sun pic is good! Just remember, *you* are the expert here, not the camera (yes, automatic does the work, but only *you* can properly compose the picture).

Take pictures, and more pictures. The more you take, the better you get.

Carolyn (who still uses the automatic settings quite a bit, but is venturing to the manual settings a little at a time, and who in the near future may actually get up enough gumption to shoot in RAW rather than in jpeg).

ps You can get a tripod at Wal Mart for less than $30.00 (and if you need to stabilize it, hang a weight from the center hook)

Thanks Carolyn. I've learned to use the programmable settings with my old camera, so using them with the new one is SO cool because the result is so much better!

I do have a tripod, but only use it for filming Lily's concerts and such. I want to get a better one for sure, one that is more solid and sturdy.

I think my kids and husband are REALLY tired of me snapping pics of them tho! ;;D

Melo... great shots!! So what camera are you using? I am crazy about non-portrait (read candid) and arty photography but ever since my very old camera broke, I have not found another that I've fallen head over heels with; the one I have now is meh, ok.

It's a Sony Cybershot DSC-H7. It's an 8.1 megapixel with 15x optical zoom with Super Steady Shot. All the Sonys also come with a Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar lens.

Here's a couple more shots. The first is of some shrooms on a log that is waiting for our fireplace, the 2nd is of a jet overhead to which after that shot (was shaky at the time too) I zoomed in on it and would have gotten a REALLY upclose pic but Jesse bumped into me outside cause he was grilling ( ::)) and the 3rd is of our dog Nikita...

Ya know.. that lens was the selling point of that camera (except the price at this store wasn't) and it sure like it lives up to its rep.. its NOT good to purchase in a rush.. ::)

Definately a high quality lens!

I did luck out though, got mine off eBay for $224. Seller had it listed in the wrong megapixel and it was titled "cammera". ::) Most of these go for about $250-260 and up on there.
