C'mon now, Scott. She's the smartest woman in America.

If she were the smartest woman in America, why would she have married William Jefferson Clinton?

Well, the more Obomba talks, the less I like him. I still like Edwards, but don't think he has a chance, so looks like Hilliary is the only choice...

And besides -- ANYTHING has got to be better than what we've got right now!!!!!!

Congress is what we need to work on - we need some people there who have some "common" sense and will do something FOR the people and NOT against the people!

Maybe a LIberitarian Congress is the answer..... then it wouldn't matter who was president.

Barb - The only answer I can come up with anymore is that the citizens of this (municipality, county, state, nation) get exactly what they deserve when they elect someone.

I'm beginning to think that a flaming bag of dog poop could get elected.

I can't disagree with you on that one.

I've said for years that we need to get some of these "over-educated" people out of DC and get some "mom and pop" types in who are used to watching the bottom line in business and let them run things for a while - maybe get some "common sense" back in government. Term limits - campaign spending limits - a lot of things need to be overhauled, but it won't get done until we UNELECT some of the career politicians that are there now. And that is UP TO THE PEOPLE who keep electing them.

This is what most people fail to realize.  Congress is where the real power to fix or fuck things up lies.  Even if the president vetoes a bill, congress can override his veto if they get enough votes.  Could be a REAL scary scenario if any one party took over both branches of the congress and actually had the stones to use it to their benefit.

I could definitely get behind having a strong libertarian presence in the congress.

I could vote for Edwards too but not a chance.

My guy was Biden. He actually knows something about the rest of the world. The guy is bright. I also like Richardson...If Hillary wins, it wouldn't surprise me if she chose him to run as Veep.

Anyone but the nightmare that occupies the White House now who is corrupt, secretive, incompetent and disdainful of liberty but by God, he'll bring democracy to Iraq if he has to kill everybody there.  8)

I agree with you Charlie, Biden was the most Competent candidate. Only problem is he has a personality amd he's bright---seems not to excite the rest of the country. As far as Hillary , I honestly think slick is going to put his foot in his mouth. He's almost done it already, but I'm expecting him to really pull a real doosie pretty soon.

Hitlary is undoubtedly a very smart women.

But above all, she is disingenuous, devious, self-serving and I didn't like her when she was President last time.

Dave...tired of the choices or lackthereof  >:(

http://www.netsync.net/users/charlies/gifs/tv horror.gif I've always thought Hillary couldn't win. I'm not so sure now. Nevertheless, either she or Obama would likely make politics interesting on the left for the first time in 40 years.  Of course competence from either party will be such a welcome change.

Hillary on Face the Nation today:

Quote:
My husband has such a great commitment to me and to my campaign. You know, he loves me. Husbands and wives get out there and work on each others' behalf. I certainly did that for him for many years. And I'm very grateful for all of the help he's given both supporting me, along with our daughter, and making the case for my candidacy.

Once again the smartest woman in the world takes the rest of us for complete idiots.
