Title: I guess I should be proud
Post by PollyPocket on Jan 24th, 2008, 2:18pm
Remember this?

on 04/07/06 at 12:19:23, JenniferD wrote:
I had to go to the school this morning to find out that he AGAIN was messing with the school's computers for reasons other than education, downloading stuff onto his jump drive WHICH HE WAS TOLD NOT TO DO IN THE FIRST PLACE, and ended up getting a virus on the schools computers. Then, they found out that he had downloaded information on how to get around the school's puter security software, which is what he did last year (hacked into it!)
So lets ice this layer of the cake:  he may be expelled and they are talking criminal charges because this is the second time.

editted to add: remember, he WAS expelled!

That was nearly 2 years ago. The boy child of mine has been testing (and passed with flying colors!) and going thru the admissions process at ECPI College of Technology in Richmond.  Wanna guess what carreer choice?..............................................................................Network & Security Management.  Go figure  ::)

I shoulda seen THAT coming,  huh?   [smiley=laugh.gif]

Standard operating procedure at software companies - hire the guy who hacked into your system to make it safer (after he serves his time, of course!).

I once was expelled from school for chronically sleeping in class, now I do it at work and get paid! ;;D

I'm sure your Son will be able to make a wonderful living doing that type of work.

P.S. Have him let me know all of the secret passwords for the porn sites. Lol

Be very proud.

He is one smart boy and should have a good future in front of him.

I have heard that these are the type of people the Network & Security Management want, as they know how to get in so they know how to stop other hackers.

well done to him (don't know he's name)

:)

Lets just call his school time antics "pre-training" for a long future in systems security.  [smiley=laugh.gif] [smiley=laugh.gif]

Let me know if he figures a way to hack in to Sallie Mae. I have a student loan I'd like to see get deleted.

Sometimes talent shows itself on the left hand.

That's pretty cool.  Congratulations.

Best wishes,

Congrats -- good basic training for his chosen profession... give him a hug and just smile -- kids will be kids..... ;;D

(Mine still swears he ONLY picked the lock on the door the night he and a couple of his partners in crime broke into the computer room and changed all the grades in the boarding school records - the school considered it "innovative" and didn't expell them - but did watch them after that!) But there is hope - mine is almost 40 and is gainfully employed, pays taxes and is actually a productive citizen today. ;;D

You should be proud, Jen. :)
Now he can catch those who would have done something similar to what he once did.

Oh hell I could see mine doing this type of stuff someday.

that is a great think for him to get into because he is interested in it.

Yes you should be proud and think of all the stories you will be able to tell your grandkids about their Dad.  ;;D

I love getting black mail stuff on them now.
