Title: Just call me Gramma! Post by Sandy_C on Jan 22nd, 2008, 2:45pm Here she is. Miss Delia Elizabeth DuBose, my first grandchild! She was born Friday 1/18/08, at 7:50 PM, weighing in at 5lbs 11 oz, measuring 18" long. Blond hair and dark blue eyes, at least this far. Both Mom (Amanda), and Jason are doing great, as is Delia. We got the call about 11:00 am Friday, saying, well, Mom, I'm in labor and we are going to the hospital. But, I'm not having regular contractions and I'm only dialated to 1 cm, so the baby will come probably in the middle of the night. Drive carefully. Well, based on the above info, Tarey and I left about 1:00 in the afternoon, figuring on a 5-1/2 hour drive, no problem, plenty of time. We get to the hospital at 7:30, are ushered in and told that we have exactly 2 minutes, because Amanda has to push! We walk back out to the waiting room, sit down, and in less than 30 minutes, Delia is born. We are immediately brought back in and watch as Delia is weighed, cleaned up, APGAR tested, which she passed with flying colors! Outside of giving birth to Amanda and Christine, this has been the most awesome experience I've ever had. Title: Re: Just call me Gramma! UPDATE Post by Sandy_C on Jan 24th, 2008, 8:02pm I'm heading back down tomorrow. Delia is having trouble nursing, and Amanda is totally frustrated. They have had to supplement breast milk with some formula, which was mush easier for Delia to take. Now, she doesn't want the breast, but wants the bottle. She is also constipated and is in quite a bit of discomfort. Jason has been home all week with Amanda and Delia, but, he has to show up for work Saturday morning, so, here comes Gramma! Somebody needs to get this baby to poop! (There, I've given all of you an opening, have a blast!) Sandy |
