Title: Weekend cooking for the whole week.....
Post by jimmers on Jan 6th, 2008, 5:47pm
Does anyone else do this? After Church today I made chicken noodle soup (Christopher has a cold), wild rice and mushroom soup. As an afterthought, I made Italian sausage in home made sugu (Italian for "sauce") served over Penni with fresh grated parmeson cheese and basil.

I think in the winter time my culinary skills come out. Come July, I'll be sittin my fat butt on the patio ordering a Philly cheese steak sub sandwich by phone. ;;D

I now have dinner for a week! Barb is such a lucky girl! :D

Hells Kitchen Jimmers ;;D

Sundays I often cook stuff for my lunch at work for the week Jimmers.
It saves me the trouble of running around in the morning trying to put something together.

Cheers, Dave

The local sub shop is kind enough to store all my food for the week. I call them, they cook it, I go get it.  8)

I really have to slow down with this cooking stuff, my "Winter fat" doesn't disappear as quickly as it did when I was 25. Getting older sucks!  ;;D

If I didn't have the shakes in the morning, I wouldn't get any exercise! ;;D

Cold bagels, frozen waffles, frozen fish sticks, frozen Healthy Choice dinners, frozen Smart Ones lasagna or ravioli, frozen pizza, frozen orange juice and frozen sausage. I'm really into experimenting with food. http://www.netsync.net/users/charlies/gifs//glomfood.gif

Charlie you need a wife sweetie.  Badly.

That diet of yours is gonna kill you and we can't have that.  We need you here.  At least go out and buy some fresh veggies and some fruit.   :-*

Oh I have canned veggies and I actually buy some fresh fruit and veggies but....

Actually, that frozen diet....it has a few veggies anyway....is pretty healthy.

I kid you not kiddo.

LMAO Charlie....you are talking to the queen of nutrition here.   Frozen diet with a "few veggies" is not healthy.

Go grab yourself some nanners and a few oranges...slice them up, pour honey over them.

Then get a few green things(lettuce, Zuccinni, cukes)  chop em up....pour your favorite dressing over them LIGHTLY

I worry about you Charlie.... :-/

Jimmers, That is what I do. I'll either make a lasagna, chicken pot pie,  that will last me a couple of other nights----then I'll make a big pork roast and with the left overs I'll make a few cuban sandwiches--love these. Then by Saturday I start the whole cycle all over again.

hehe I cook more BIG things in the winter. Made a huge pot of homemade chili yesterday.

Have some Italian sausage, so we are set for a few nights and I have homemade stuff for lunch as well.

we just finished the  ham we had for new year eve, had to add salads to make a meal out of it, so the tamales we had yesterday and the rosca were a good break for so much ham...I think we will not eat ham again for a least a month  :-/. I hate eating the same for days  :( ...unless the same is cheese  :P.

Hey Rosybabe, you make the tamales like I like em? Hog's head ?

My ex Father in Law used to make the best tamales I ever had, barbacoa, napolitas, lengua, carne guisada, carne asada and fajitas.

On second thought, I think I'll keep him in my immediate family  ;;D

nop Dave, sorry to dissapoint you but I am from down the cost in Mexico so my tamales are way different than the ones you get to eat here. Mine are bigger and wrapped in a banana leaf, more like the cuban, El Salvador type of tamale. Not the corn leaf wrap kind, those are from the north part of Mexico. But mine are good too  ;;D.

For this upcoming weekend, I'm thinking a batch of beef stroganoff and Hungarian goulash.

I'll cook on Sunday though, the Packers play on Saturday. It's sometimes hard to cook and bitch at the TV at the same time! ;;D

Jimmers. Now don't feel sorry for me but, while you are sitting on your comfy recliner watching the game, I will be suffering in 30 degree weather sitting on those cold bleachers in Sec 138. Row 48. Go Pack.
