Just an FYI. There are very few rooms left to reserve for DavCon. I got one of the last rooms, it wasn't for the "rate" we are getting, the only smoking room left was a suite with a whirlpool (ahhhhhhhh), so I took it.

If you haven't made reservations yet... you may want to.

Hmmmm..........thats what they told me when I made my reservation a few weeks ago.

I called New Years eve and got a smoking room for 2 nights no problem.

HEY - i made reservations today - and they told me that OUCH has 5 (FIVE) reservations so far. i KNOW there's more than 5..........??? (right??? >:( )

You know, when I made the reservations, the girl on the phone didn't even know what OUCH was, wanted to know if we had a block of rooms, had no idea what I was talking about. I finally had to give her the name of someone else who had already made reservations, so she could look it up. ::)

Anyway, Woobs, I'm sure there are a lot more people who have already made reservations, but maybe used a discount or something. I mean, I just KNOW more than 5 people have booked rooms. Don't worry, you'll see plenty of CH'ers, and families. ;;D

By the way, does anyone like wine? I have a red shiraz, I'm afraid to drink it, it's a trigger, but if anyone would like some, I'll bring it.

I got mine for 80.99 through my NRA card, but they may not have counted it as OUCH. Just checked again, it shows 89.99 now. Must pay to do it early..... :). I know we have more than 5 rooms.

I looked in the DavCon thread on the meetings page, it said 89 and 99, so I just booked online one the Best Western site. I got the 89 rate and got to pick from the different room setups.
And yes, Chris, I like wine... then again, I drink just about anything with alcohol in it. ;;D

But - if you did too - and got 89... then I probably got a room on the 2nd floor way in the back - next to the room with the noisy furnace or something.

(I was worried because in Illinois - as of the 1st - no smoking in public places... even casinos....)

I was just wondering about people saying they were with OUCH because - I thought maybe that the hospitality suite would be cheaper, the more rooms we have reserved...
and if no one is saying they're with OUCH, then that kinda screws that up.
5 rooms isnt a lot for a big discount...

but I'm sure Jackie knows how to get around that - she's good at such things..... (which is why i'm glad she's doing it, because I am not)... ha ha

Well, I also have an American Seyval- White semi-dry.
And I also have a bottle of blackberry wine made by the same people as the Seyval.

The red shiraz is from Australia. McWilliams, I believe.

Anyway, does anyone have a corkscrew? I don't have one.

I spoke with the event planner/sales gal today.
If you don't have your reservations already 'smoking rooms' are all but gone. There is another group coming in the same weekenc and they all wanted 'smoking'.

Sounds like we're gonna have a big party Sat. night.....the other group is a bunch of truckers....... ;;D

The rate quoted was $89 per night with poolside being $99. The hospitality room rate was $159 per night but I did get her down to $99 per night for that. You can do better if you have coupons, discounts, etc.

I'll be posting more info on the 'meeting board' in a day or two.

We're getting close...... :D

Chris, I'm really disappointed to not be able to go. I really wanted to meet Joe and the others on chat who said they would be there.

I had forgotten that my Mom was coming for a 2 week visit. I could have probably gotten the time off from work because Andy & I as well as the other guys have been kicking the hell out of that big job we took on.

But, alas !! Ma's visit is really important to her. Regardless, we will have fun here while thinking of all the fun I am missing at Davcon.

Just remember to take pics of everyone and tell them that next year I will make a point of meeting them all. They didnt have to suffer me this year, but I wont let them off the hook next year [smiley=laugh.gif]
