Riley is home and as we speak is cuddled up on the sofa with Tam and Louisha,

I'm so happy to have him home, we have weekly appointments with the hospital and a nurse that comes round each day, He is still pretty sleepy from the meds he is taking, We moved his meds to 10pm so that he is more awake in the day, God im so happy !!!!

We now know that he has Hemiplegia which means he is paralyzed down the right side of his body because of the damage to the left side of his brain from the stroke so its still gonna be a long road and there will be lots of things he might not be able to do but we will cross each bridge as we come to it.

WOOHOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In NY even at the earliest of ages children may qualify for early intervention.....
Physical Therapy, occupational therapy and educational services are provided to infants where you would think not much can be done......
We do tons of exercises to start helping the body learn how to move per se.....

A long road but plenty of joy and light my friend.
Keep expectations high with a lot of short term smaller goals...

Ike, Tammi, Louisha and little Riley, our prayers were answered. When I came home for lunch and read this I teared up with happiness. I am going to go back to work this afternoon and my co-workers will probably be wondering why I am smiling and saying "friggin eh!" for the rest of the day there.

We are so happy for you and the family Ike. Give them all a hug for Angie and me will you? And do not forget one for yourself either.

Eric is right, BTW... ask the docs about the various therapies available to him. Early intervention is the key.

oh Ike!! I am so happy for you and Tami! The sweet Lord is always listening and I am sure Riley will do a lot more things that you can think of right now. The sky is not the limit when you have hope and you are surrounded by love. He is already your miracle and I am glad a lot of our birthday wishes came true for him.
He will always be in our prayers because we already feel him as part of the family. We had cried for him when he was struggling and smile with him when he felt better. There has been a lot of love and good vibes going his way that he must feel really squeezed :).

He's going to do great after all he has you to get him through it all... I'm so glad he is home and out of the woods. One day at a time Daddy... He may surprise you I see little miracles every day...

Hiya sorry its a bit here and there with the reply, E-dub your spot on and we are already starting that road, he has 10 doctors neuro physio audiology and still waiting to hear from some more soon, he really is getting the best care possible..
