Title: Re: Quadrantid meteor shower Friday AM Post by brewcrew on Jan 4th, 2008, 7:49am I was out at 5:30 this morning to let the dog do God's work, well before dawn, having a smoke and looking ENE. Glancing upward in eager anticipation, my neighbors to the north let their dog out and turned on their yard light, effectively blowing my night vision. Never saw a thing. |

Title: Re: Quadrantid meteor shower Friday AM Post by phil_h on Jan 4th, 2008, 8:08am Went out to the park at @am , I had to walk the beast between his attacks . In this very dark place , I come upon 5 people with telescopes . I stayed out awhile , saw 9 - 10 in 45-60 minutes . I was distracted by the telescope jumior astronomers saying over and over , look at those........... there were seeing a whole lot more than me . I looked through a guys scope and saw more in 5 minutes than I saw the rest of the time by eye . Madw me think I should have a telescope....... no. Man it was f---ing cold . |
