I have been worried about her for some time. She started her own message board before she supposedly left the country. I can't imagine her not checking in on her board or on here. I know she left Racer in charge of her board until she got back to it and as far as I know she has not been in contact with him either. I am worried something has happened to her and that she never made it out of Africa. I sure hope that I am wrong. :-/

Several of us are worred about Jasmyn.As far as i can remember she has been hiding since just after Milcon in Milwaukee in 2006.

As Helen said it she was talking abou moving to Australia but that was the last time we heard from her

I’ve been wondering that myself for a long time; when I heard she was leaving the Mozzie coast for the Aussie coast I sent her a couple of PM’s but didn’t hear back..
A lot of people from South Africa have immigrated to Oz due to the trouble over there, they like the life style & a lot of Oz is similar to SA.
Does anyone know her surname, if so can you PM me & I will try to track her down through our phone system.

So far I have found 16 listings for Debeer Oz wide & one right here in Karratha.
Ive been on the phone but no luck as yet but it’s a normal working day today & at this time of the year a lot of people are on holidays being our summer.
Does anyone know her Hubby’s christian name, a lot of listing in Oz are only done with the 1 initial & knowing his name will be helpful.
As soon as I’ve got anything I’ll let you know.

I have exhausted all of the phone #s in West Aust except the one here in Karratha, it rings but no answer, they may be on holidays.
All of the people I spoke to came from South Africa & don’t know of any DeBeers in Mozambique but one young lady I spoke to suggested I try a my face page so I’ll have a go at that today.

Potter has sent me another Email addy,I tried different combinations of the other one but drew a blank all round, I’ll see what I can do with this.

Absolutely correct. That's why one should always err on the side of caution, especially when another's safety might be compromised. And especially especially when that person is a friend.

That would be my opinion, yes. If there's any chance that revealing her whereabouts might put her in jeopardy. And I sort of got that sense before she departed.

If you know something we don't know that would put her in danger by any means, please pm me and the search is off.

If your just assuming, its not.

Her last words were that she'd be back on line after she got settled with her move to Oz. Instead she dropped off the internet one day and never came back, she hasn't been anywhere for over a year as far as anyone can tell. I find that extremely odd.

My opinion, somethings wrong and I'm a concerned friend, as are others are here, so I know I'm far from alone.

I hope Barry finds her.

One more time, then I'll say no more. Jasmyn is an adult (not my child). She is very dear to many here. She said she'd check in when she could. She lived in a politcal-economic climate that was a little more volatile than most of us experience day to day. Looking for her and possibly locating her may not be the best thing that could happen. Or she may just want some privacy for awhile.

If others think it's prudent to continue the search, by all means, have at it. I choose to respect her right to privacy.

I'm done on this subject.

Folks Ill do my best to find out if Jazz is OK but it will be done with the utmost discretion and will only be reported back here if Jazz so wishes.

With the possible leads people have PM’s me my take on this is as follows:
It’s known that jazz was heading to OZ and as Jazz’s hubby works in the aluminum mining industry and that here in OZ we have a massive shortage of skilled people and we are bringing in people from all over the world; it makes sense to me that with the huge resources boom that is happening here that one of the major companies would have snapped up someone like jazz’s hubby and given that a move as big as traveling half way round the world from your own country to a strange land it will take quite some time to settle.
There’s a new job a new life and a whole new being that you have to come to terms with and if Jazz is doing OK with CH right now she is probably using that time to do the best she can for her family.
She knows that when she needs us we will be here, all we want to know is that a friend is OK.

As a foot note to this; as I have described above about the shortage of skilled people, companies are searching world wide for skilled people in the mining industry and are prepared to pay very good $s with incentives, this is not a short term boom but is expected to go on for at least the next 20 years.
If anyone wants work here and have the experience in the mining industry and wants a move there are all sorts of work visas available through the OZ embassy who will put you in touch with the companies.
