Title: Preventative Post by chbob on Jun 10th, 2007, 11:57am It seems that many clusterheads stutter. They say preventative instead of preventive. Why don't they say: Abortative OR Abusasive OR Adaptative Or Perceptative OR Adhesasive OR Perspectative OR ........... :-/ |

It's spelled both ways, preventative is ok too. I use preventive when with another word as in "preventive medication" or "preventive measures" but use preventative when used alone as in "verapamil is a preventative for clusters", for some stupid reason. :) |
