Why do you think I said that? On my first post Margi warned me that being from Edmonton was going to give the Cowtowners plenty of insult material. ::) The Edmonton/Calgary rivalry is HUGE. Calgarians have chips on there shoulders because EDMONTON is the capital and they aren't. Plus our sports teams win and thiers don't. [smiley=laugh.gif] Hey Margi.Where are you?

"oooh. you better hope Margi and Mike are not-online Mr."

When I first started posting Margi made a point of telling me that it would be a rough ride seeing I was from Edmonton. The ED/CAL rivalry is huge. Cowtowners have chips (cowchips?) on thier shoulders because Edmonton is the capital of the province and they aren't. Also our sports teams win and thiers don't
;;D. Chris, we have a place right next to us that looks just like where you live. It's called Saskatchewan ::).

Shoot!  If I had a picture of downtown, it sure wouldn't look like those!  Haha!!!  I think the tallest building in the whole town is only three stories high!

Yeah, yeah, Mac I see you.  I guess we Calgarians know how beautiful our area is, what with the Rocky Mountains at our door step and all...and the Bow River (one of the top 5 rated fly fishing areas in the world) running through our midst.....we don't need to post no stinkin' pictures, man.  (truth be told our calgary.com website is a real weenie job - no good pics!).  No, we KNOW we live in God's country.  No need to crow about it.  Edmontonians are like that, though.  They get quite insecure about living in that frozen tundra to the north.  Edmonton is pretty I guess.  Lotsa trees and that Groat Road is kinda nice, even if it does have kind of a weird name.  ::)  But, no chinook breaks like we get - they get winter for what, EIGHT months out of the year?  Not us - we're balmy here in the south.  Why, just today, all the snow melted from my front lawn.  Hell, man, we were out in shorts today!! We cut our northern brethren a lil slack now and then - we do feel sorry for them that they can't see the mountains from Emmonchuck.  Hell, they can't even see Jasper!  It's ok though - they can just drive 3 hours south and we'll share our Rockies with them.  That's the Calgarian spirit.  We're just very giving people.  Southern hospitality, you know.

oh and by the way, answer your danged e-mail, Mr. Mac....I have a job for you, remember.  You figured out my challenge for you yet?  Daylight's burnin, sir.

p.s.  thanks for finding that pic, Grant - that's a good one.  Too bad there's no chinook arch though - you know, for those poor frozen Edmontonians.

Here it is - Sin City (Actually it is a pic of the Paris Hotel and Casino.) ;)

http://www.photo.net/photo/pcd2898/paris-las-vegas-14.3.jpg

When i wsa a kid and wen to Washington for a scholarship thing I even had kids form small mid west towns and such as if we lived in a casino. Let see I was told we dont have churches of schools either.  And the fact that I messed with them and told them that it was true that we had classes at the casino on how to deal and such.  It was part of the corriculum.  It was fun.

Now Reno is where I went to college and got married and had my first kid.  Would rather live htere.

Up there, if you don't work for the government, you work at an oil refinery. LOL   (Mac...   I couldn't find any pics of those 'beautiful' refineries that dominate the skyline when driving into Edmonton.)

This is our lake, the town is rather pitiful and small... the lake is what sustains us. Amazingly beautiful and serene! It is in the Kiamichi Mountains of rural Southeast Oklahoma.

Here's a link that updates the pic every now and then. The weather has cleared so this is a about as good as it gets until June or July. Well maybe August.

Looking South from Yaquina Head.
http://cil-www.oce.orst.edu:8080/yhead/latest.c0.snap.html

The surf is about 30 ft. today. Can't really tell that from the pic.

It's damp, windy and rarely above 50 F.
We don't  tan we rust. If you've never broken a few bones getting that Salmon to BBQ on the weekend, you weren't fishing.
We're not really laughing at you if you ask when it stops raining, and its only July.
Contrary to populer belief we are not unfriendly. Everyone here will be more than happy to tell you when it's time for you to go home ;;D
God's country. The Pacific paradise. Newport Oregon.

I know of no decent pictures of Jamestown. I've been meaning to take some more but but I can't shrink the pics anyway.

Jamestown is about 30,000 Swedes, Englishmen and Italians living on lots of hills. No one goes downtown anymore unless you need to sue someone or go to jail

Very hilly.
