Title: Chat room problems?
Post by ClusterChuck on Dec 6th, 2003, 6:52pm
Hey!  What happened to the chat room?  I logged in, and Ree and Kirk were there.  I typed a hello, and then the chatroom screen went blank.  Is it my deoderant? Now I can't even pull it up!?

Anyone else have the same trouble?

Chuck

I'm still in there Chuckles. MS users who still insist on using IE seem to have trouble holding on to a connection though. Obsolete browsers. What a pain.
YOU would'nt be one of those people would you?

I knew it!  It is all Kirk's fault!  He IS still in there.  I finally got it back up, and typed in one question, and it went in, he answered, and I typed another one, and BANG!  I am out AGAIN!    Now he is blaming ME!  Sheesh!  The NERVE of some peeps!

I am not using IE, exactly.  I use MSN for my dial up and my home page, and I go from there.  Is MSN using IE for its web access?

I think that the problem goes a little deeper than that - anyone have server space for Elaine - NOW?

I hate it when your server provider decides to go out of business - NOW.

Oh crap. So thats why the server doesn't repost its data sometimes.
I think I have enough parts for another server in a friends wine celler (don't ask) and I have an IP address available.
Who's helping Elaine and Michelle with the chat stuff?

Anybody have any info. E-mail me kirk@incas-inc.com

To answer your Question Chuck, both MSN and AOL use IE as the browser, they just changed the skin, by the way MSN is owned by micro$oft so what else would they use, LOL

Pablo:
Run netcraft on msn.com and see what they are running and thier uptime. ;;D

Somehow some of the servers letters got scrambled to BSD.

Thanks, Paul.  That is exactly what I though, because, like you say, I know who the owners are!  The BASTARDS!  But I did not know that AOL used it too!

Kirk,

I know - but it was fogged in tight here all day, and I'm off to Chicago in the morning. I'm really pissed because the Chief has agreed to take me out in the big one's!  :'(

Chuck,
It gets stranger, AOL uses IE even thought they owned Netscape for a while.

Pablo:
AOL still owns Nutscrape. M$ gave them $750 million large.
Mozilla.org is still going strong.
Thank you all for your support.

Ok, I thought that AOL sold Netscape but I just found out it is going to die a slow death (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/3074031.stm). If that is true than why release a new version. Any way Mozilla will continue the netscape tradition and continue as open source. For some strange reason I prefer Netscape over Mozilla. I guess I like bloated code.

By the way Kirk, what's up with pablo?

Paul:
Just being a lame smart ass. Pablo is just the spanish convention for Paul.
AOL is still giving Mozilla a few million a year to help keep  it alive.
I have been disappointed with Nutscrape for awhile, so I won't miss it.

Kirk,
You are definitely not lame, and I have learned something too. Actually I have learned a lot from you so keep up the good work.

Grant,
I know netscape has problems , I just can't figure out why I like it above all others including mozilla, of course there are people who like AOL over all the others. And believe it or not when I get a clear moment again I have a M$ question for you.

Opus/Paul
