Thank you to everyone who responded. As I had posted earlier, I wanted time to try the suggestions and make notes with regards to the Camster and getting him to describe his pain and to help me intervene before his attacks become full blown.

What I have discovered..hand signals work best -- we are using the classic rock-paper-scissors signs. rock we have found turns into full blown attacks. scissors are the full blown. paper is the "flashing pain" that never was a rock but wont go past a kip scale of 5.

Thank you again to everyone for your suggestions and well wishes...we both do feel like very fortunate to have found this site. High 5s all around from Cammie and big hugs from me.

Glad you found some way of communicating with your son. I hope it is the last time you have to do it!!

That's so cool. Really hoping that everything works out for you and Cam. Its so unfair that soemone that age would have to go through this.
