Title: OUCH Members please read
Post by Dave_Emond on Oct 29th, 2003, 4:34pm
In the Members Forum there is a topic that involves all OUCH members. We have put up the proposed Budget for the year 2004 for your review.
This is an OUCH organizational matter and your input is appreciated. The members have 60 days to add their input before it goes back to the Officers/BoD for revision and adoption.
The thread is titled "OUCH Membership Budget Review."
Thanks,
Dave

Now is the time, OUCH members, to speak up for or against things you see in the proposed budget.  There's a good discussion going on over there and some very good points are being raised.  Do YOU feel these goals are attainable?  Do YOU think these expenses are unreasonable?  Speak UP!!

Just a doggone minute!!  If you rearrange the letters in "Research Grant", take out a few and add a few, it spells Yacht Upkeep.  Is that freakin Don getting the boat painted again!!!!

The Professionalism of some of the members posting on the budget issue is dumbfounding me.  Do any of you live on a budget?  Or do you all make so much money that you can just throw it all away and not worry about where it goes?  As a member I would like to know if there is a set of books?  If so, I would like to see them.  No this is not an AUDIT.  As a non profit organization the books are a matter of public record.  The Treasurer's Report is not a set of books.  (Why do you have to enter a password to view this)  Where is the General Ledger, Profit and Loss Statement, Balance Sheet, etc.?  Why are members told to go add them up themselves if they want to know anything?  The members need to get involved and see what is going on.

and...do we know you, Octgirl?  What connection do you have to cluster headaches?
The reason that site is password protected is because it is an area for OUCH members, exclusively.  Are YOU an OUCH member?
If you are, then I suggest you post your concerns on the OUCH boards, so that you will be assured that the BoD will see your comments.
This is a pretty antagonist post, Octgirl - for someone so new, you seem to know instinctively how to ruffle feathers.  Something's not right here...do you work for someone who has clusters?

edit:  my instinct was right - I just found your only other post here.  I see that you do work for someone who has clusters.  Again, I suggest you post your concerns on the OUCH boards for the Directors and Officers to see.

Absolutely amazing!!

Another barbara d recruit!!

A little early for Thanksgiving but I think I smell stuffing.

Here's a question for barbara, just how many friends, relatives and aquaintances have you signed up for OUCH in the past few weeks and why did you wait 4 years to sign them up???

Oh, and Octgirl, that's mighty demanding talk from a non-clusterhead in a our clusterhead home.

Modify:  I've rethought and removed my uncalled for comment but my question remains and I also wonder, do they all plan on participating in the election?

that's not what I smell, Bob.   [smiley=nono.gif]

p.s. to Bob.  I just "got" your stuffing comment.  Good call.  Voting needs to be restricted to those who have been members for a certain period of time.  I think the BoD needs to address this IMMEDIATELY.

I haven't voted because I haven't been a member long enough , because I'm lazy.  And, I don't know anyone well enough to vote for them.  I am going to be spending a lot of time researching the ouch site and learning more about how it works and shopping in the online store.

Wow. I've been on many union boards and have witnessed some vitriolic sniping. This has to rank right up there with the best of it.

As an episodic ch sufferer for 20+ years, I was ecstatic to find this site. I became on OUCH member, and fully intend to vote.

I am a newbie, I'm not a vital member of this community at this point, but was (am) considering becoming more involved - started an email to join the newsletter crew, then paused when I read the OUCH board.

I understand in any organization there are differences and backbiting. At the same time, seeing the call for involvement alongside nasty in-fighting posts tells me this is not an organization that I can necessarily trust.

So, no dramatic ultimatums (cuz, who'd give a damn anyway? [smiley=bag.gif]). Just thought that an "outsider" view might help take the nastiness off the board so newbies would be more inclined to want to help. [smiley=twocents.gif]

Chris - newbie: not in life, experience, or ch, but on this site.

99% of this would not happen face to face.
My 2 cents worth....and yall STOP IT...we got work to do.

Kinda dumb, pretty silly and useless.

Not my idea of an intro.
