yep --- cool... free long distance

and its works, not like the version of messenger i got with XP LOLOL (yep Opus --- another M$ product that doesn't always work --- the other day, i could hear firebrix, but she couldn't hear me..... today, svenn could hear me, but i couldn't hear him)

thx for the link svenn --- hopefully a few of you get this --- some of us are too BROKE for long distance.

Do you have to use an actual phone receiver for this, or can you use it like an instant messenger w/o the phone?

IM without the phone --- uses a mike and spkrs (or headset) on yer puter

Me and a buddy of mine have used a similiar feature in XP using Messenger. You could do voice over the internet but it sounded weird. I just pick up the phone now because I have un-installed all of my instant messaging programs. For you international folks this is a good idea though....free long distance! For now....till the Goverment figures out how to tax it :-/

Hey GREAT program! I used it tonight to talk to Svenn. Worked GREAT!!! Sure is cheaper than using Ma Bell!

I have TaraAnn, Grant, ZanyChef, and Svenn on my list of buddies. Is there anyone else out there that has tried this program? It is free and VERY easy to use. If this old fart can do it, anyone can ... Even Cootie!!! heehee ... (I luv you Pammy .... )

WEll my puter has been somewhat stable for a week [smiley=damncomputer.gif] now so maybe I can try this program out :)

I'll download it and get a headset and let you know when I am up and running :)

I don't see how this is different from any of a number of IM programs that also have full duplex voice such as Yahoo IM. MS NetMeeting also does full duplex voice as well as plenty of other cool tricks and there's no subscription required, and the software is free last I checked.

A few years ago when I travelled a lot for work I used dialpad.com which let you call any phone number in America from your computer for free. Now THAT was cool.
