Hi there Cluster peeps

We are down at the Holiday Inn at Vanderbuilt in Nashville Tennessee for July 16th (Friday) to 18th (Sunday) 2004

The room rates are $89 per room, but Nashville has a high occupancy tax which is 14%. You can get a room with two double beds for people who want to share.
Beth (the lady in the sales dept) is going to set up a 1800 number for any one who wants to call and book thier rooms. You can also call the hotel directly after she has set us up in the system. She will get that number to me tomorrow and I will post it.
You can also come in earlier or leave later and still get the same rates. She will hold a block of 50 rooms. She can only hold them up to June 16th and after that they cannot guarantee the space.

I had a meeting with her there today and I am so excited!!!
I have booked some professional stand up comedian friends of mine who are going to donate thier time to Ouch and do a stand up comedy act for us while we are dinning at our banquet. I told them you were a great bunch of people with an amazing sense of humour, so they will be working in jokes about our "little headaches". We will also have a cash bar thrown in by the hotel while we are dining and watching the show.
I have always said laughter is the best medicine.!!!!
It is a great location. It has a sports bar connected to the hotel. A huge park opposite the hotel and lots of places to eat. Oh and by the way....the hotel has a PORCH.!!!
The hotel will also throw in a shuttle for any one who wants to be taken down town to see the music acts.
As I said before though there is not a free shuttle from the airport to the hotel. It is the Greyline shuttle. $17 round trip.

Will be there with bells on my toes ... Oh, wait, Donna said she was going to paint my toes ... OK, I'll leave off the bells ... How about the bone in my nose? Too much of an accessory? Leave that off too? Darn, you are a tough crowd! Next you will tell me to drop the Hot Pink mini skirt and 5" spike heeled shoes !!!! Sheeeshh!!!

Oh Chuck, I think the skirt would be just TOOO cute with the toenails.... Oh and LEAVE the bells. You'll be the HIT of Nashville.

Good work people. Now all of you get busy saving your money and getting time off from work. You don't have the excuse that you weren't warned early enough this time.

And a porch too.!!!! Doesn't get any better than that.
Brad and Randy....you guys better bring your instruments. (O.K. go for it. I walked into that one)

The Porch is off the lobby and it faces the car park...so we can sing and act goofy...hell it's Nashville...they will think we are all songwriters.
There is a pool too, so get waxing yer hairy bums and bring your bathing suits.

So, what is the room rate, per night, double
occupancy....tax & all?

Is it $ 101.46 per night? (14% figured in)

$ 50.73 each, for 2 people who want
to split the cost, per night. It's what
I come up with.

Is this correct?

Do they nail you with "bed tax" & other
hidden charges?

I just want to know what the cost
of the room is going to be....total.
All charges included.

Hey, I just called the Convention/Vistor's Bureau and got some facts:

They DO bathe everyday in Nashville - they just throw the water out once a week!!!

Will there be a pot belly stove we can all sit around and spit in like my grama always did in southern Kentucky.....picture 10 adults in a dim lit room around a pot belly stove on foldin chairs hockin that snuff and chew tabaccoo.....when sumone missed into the open stove's door you would hear a faint HISSSSSS !! Us city slicker kids would freak out at the site of it all......oh and that grain alcohol in the mason jars that made everyone get so dam LOUD ! Hope they do't have ticks....do they have ticks in Tennesse.....I always hated ticks !! Pam that got ticker'd out as a kid and brought one home as a pet inbedded in my scalp [smiley=bash.gif]

???Ok, just so I have this straight. At convention we're going to:
Sleep two to a bed for $52 a nite
Maybe (?) take a bath
Spit and Chew
Aim at the pot bellied stove and maybe hit it into hissing
Moon Nashville
Pick, blow and sing on the porch
Drink moonshine out of mason jars
And fight off killer ticks

Did I miss anything.... I have to give my son my agenda... 8)
