Here's praying High winds don't come up. The Chaperrell can burn at freeway speeds.
I had thought they had paved over everything from Camirillo up the grade and through the Simi Valley by now.

Be Well.

Tis the season.  Temps have been in the mid 80's at the beach and 100+ inland.  The Santa Ana's have been blowing for days.  Gusts to 60 mph.  This is the time of year when we eradicate the field mice by burning the mountains.  We follow this up with heavy rains to wash the dirt away.  Man I love it!

No fires on the central coast which is good since all our equipment is down south helping them.  My kids evacuated from the San Diego fire last night but I believe all is well this morning.

Thanks for asking Bob.

Part of the reason these fires are so out of control is because of the Santa Ana winds.

I've got several family members that I'm worried about and David(Sommelier) lives in So. Calif. but I'm sure he's O.K.  since he doesn't live near where the fires are.

I just pray the winds stop so they can be put under control.     LindaH

This is the view from my roof looking north at 8:00 Saturday morning.  This was only the beginning as the entire mountain blazed across east to west by the end of the day.

We are very luck to still be here !!!!

I"m sure there's lots more, but last night I heard the fires were tearing through and around VENTURA.
That's where our very own Slammy lives.  Yesterday was ok, but now??  :-/
Anyone heard from the Slammeister?

Vibes and prayers that everyone is safe to all you Left Coasters - I hope the rain comes soon and heavy!

I'm a couple of hundred north of the fires, but it looks like the smoke is headed up our way too. The warm weather is nice, but the sky sure looks strange.......

I took these about an hour ago:
