First, I want to thank you all for the good wishes on my birthday (Margi, I'm gonna get you for starting that one so early)!   :-*

Second, I just added a new "gizmo" to the board that should work out to be pretty cool.  I would consider it a birthday present to me if y'all would check it out and see how it works!  Sufferers and supporters both are welcome to add their "pin"!

If you look at the menu bar at the top of the message board where all of the other icons are, you will see a new icon named "Member Map".  This link allows you to put a "pin" on a visual map where you live so we can see where everyone lives in this world.  It also adds your country's flag to your profile so it shows when you make a post.

This feature isn't automatic, so each person will need to manually "add their pin" to the map by clicking on the "Member Map" icon, then clicking on the "Add your location" button in the bottom, right hand corner.  Doing so will bring up a new window that will allow you to edit the information in your profile.

All you have to do is navigate to the area of the world where you live and move your mouse over the map to the approximate area where you live.  Click the left mouse button to place your "pin".  Click the "Save" button and you're done!

For those of you who are familiar with the way stuff on the internet works, it shouldn't be too much of a struggle to figure it out...  For those of you who aren't, I will put up a detailed manual in the "how to edit your profile" section of the board as soon as I can get it together.

This feature is a lot like the "Where We Live" area of the site, it just puts a "visual" effect to it all.

Please take the few seconds that it takes to add your "pin" to the NEW Member map!

That is exactly what I did for a certain person here who is....uh....um.....Geographically challenged and presented it to her at the convention.  he he he he

I once proposed a vacation/terrorist trip from CHer to CHer...happily sponging my way along from home to home throughout the continent. As this map fills in...the reality of OUR pilgrimage approaches. The huge # of sites and their close proximity will reduce the amount of money and food that we will require from each resort/friend that we grace with our visit.

Uh...gee .....I'm uh....kidding...Please.....feel free to put yer pin on the map.....before next summer.

Margi you have to take the little pencil thingy and stick it into your country............ I had a little bit of a challenge and Dave the truck driver kept saying that jonny was in the wrong part of the map that we were supposed to be on top of him............... so jonny is in Andover(Andov-ah) and we are God knows where, but technically we are in the right State... anyway.........so who gives a rats hiney it aint like any one will visit us........................Hey Tara Ann cool you live in NH??????????? where bouts?  love ree

Happy Birthday DJ....thanks for all the work on this MB, it all is very cool. I thought I may add a little bells and whistle to the map function so if you will go here (http://terrafly.com/) and enter your street address it will give a pretty good satellite image of your neighborhood...quit a neat tool.

It's very cool.  I agree with Ann.  We need more Canadians up there...

This could be extremely useful in planning conventions or smaller CH gatherings!

Just found this site tonight. THANKS  34 year old male 12 year sufferer......... never met anybody before who had them........Now I found this site and the creator of it lives in the same town as me. See that little flag under my name?

Click on the flag (not on my name) and you'll see where I live. Only one arrow will be on the map.

For the space cadets that can't remember where they live, click on the flag under your own name.

Kev and echo, when click on the "add your location" button, a second window will pop up.  On that map, move your cursor over the map and it will turn into a "pin".  Clicking on the map where you live will place the pin on your map.  Then, "save" and you should be good.

Let me know if that helps...
