Title: ECH Cycle (POLL)
Post by LasVegas on Oct 23rd, 2003, 4:56pm
How many full days/nights painfree (Not 1 CH and of course no need for abortives) do you give yourself before you begin weaning off of preventaive meds such as Verapamil?

I was thinking about 2 weeks PF and then start weaning, but would appreciate you participating in this poll to get a consensus.

Anybody else around here Episodic with an answer or all just Chronic?  Wouldn't post this thread for a poll if it wouldn't be of help for all to identify better health and mind.  Please reply with your personal timeframe.  Thanks in advance.

I'm episodic and I always continue taking the same amount of preventatives.  The longest I went PF was 96 days.  Now I have to start weening off my verapamil because of complications.  My cardiologist will let me continue taking only 120 mgs a day.  My headaches are about to start up again...(I don't really believe that  ;;D) hehe  CH??  what the hell is that?

hope that helps

Not too sure, but haven't had a CH in 6 days/nights and only 3 in the past 2 weeks.  But with 60 mg daily of Prednisone who knows.  Seems to have been a wonder drug for me at this dosage.  What makes me nervous though is I just started tapering off the Prednisone yesterday down to 40 mg daily and will taper more and off over the next week.  So i"m really hoping the Verap has kicked in after 4 weeks and/or the cycle is just plain broke.

Jonny,
Thanks for asking bro.  No I f---en jinxed myself by writing that previous answer.  That night (Friday night woke up with one about an hour after fell asleep, not too severe, o2 aborted in 5 minutes) was incredibly angry more than in pain that it happened.  And nothing yesterday or last night.  Now, 8:45am Sunday and i'm cool.  We'll see.  Still tapering off the Pred and going to give it till next weekend before tapering the Verap IF no more CH's.
Prepared for the worst and praying for the best!
