Post by River_Rat on Oct 22nd, 2003, 5:45pm I thought I'd post this here, this came out of a long dicussion, I think we have decided (HOPE) anyway if you didn't see it in the meet and greet section here it is:: OK GREAT NEWS TINA WILL BE HOSTING THE MIDWEST MEET AND GREET, I might give her a hand. WHEN: January 10th and 11th (Check in at 2pm) WHERE: SteepleGate Inn (100 W. 76th st. Davenport, IA) I Spoke with the GM at the SteepleGate For about an hour today and got us some great rates, This is a very nice hotel, with a great bar, very nice restaurant, large indoor pool with alot of tables and lounge areas, I explained the purpose of our meeting and he was very helpful, not to mention I personally know the owner, who never goes there, but I did drop the name LOL http://www.bestwestern.com/prop_16083 With the use of this type hotel the won't be much reason to have to leave, everything we need will be there. Rates are $99.00 single occupancy, However I was able to negotiate these rates Hows $64.00 double occupancy sound and that includes a killer breakfest buffett. Here's the catch we need to book 10 rooms so I need to know AS SOON AS POSSIBLE how many of you will be in attendence. I'm going to post this in general post as well LEE |

I haven't heard anyone say that it was a problem, but it doesn't look (at least at this point) like we are gonna fill 10 rooms The people that said they will be there for sure are: Gena Jim Vig River_Rat Tina & Ramon The maybe's are: Yos BruceD My wife and I will get a room there but I think Tina and Ramon might be staying with family So that's only 4 rooms for sure so far. Ramon and I can get a room there...... and if someone else needs it - or can show up - they can have it. If no one needs it - we'll just stay. We have a lot of other places we can stay...... my parents.. friends... so if someone can show up at the last minute.. they're more than welcome to our room. It'll be like a reserve room. No biggie - if that'll help get the 10 rooms. We're half way there.. right?? Still havent heard from some people.......give it a couple days........ I'm having issues with my computer (on another one right now). I have to reformat.....so I may not be online until tomorrow.......... SUCKS!!! peace out! tina :-* |

Post by River_Rat on Oct 23rd, 2003, 7:08pm Well, The GM of the hotel wanted me to let them know by Friday (that's today) but I think he was just trying to lock us in, I'm quite sure if we let him know in a week or so it will be fine. Also, if we only need like 7 or 8 rooms he may let it slide, we just need to get a count and let him know. When we talked he just threw out that number so I'm not sure how solid the 10 rooms thing is. LEE |

Sorry folks, but I have actually TASTED Bruce's cheesecake, and they are to die for!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will be there! Well I will do everything in my power to be there that is LOL. Clark can come home on the weekends from Texas so I will have him come home that weekend and we will all go to Davenport and he can watch the kids while we all party hehe. He would love to meet you guys, and I can guarantee that Andrea will think it's the birthday of her dreams :) Thanks folks, do they have a suite? hehe. Alex is 11 (will be 12 in Feb) and Andrea will be 10 that weekend, and Ayden is 3. Any volunteers from the 12 & 13 year olds to babysit?
