Ok I did some research and here is what I have come up with so far.
All these rates are based on a block of 50 rooms.
Each hotel will provide a genral hospitalitly suite for the time we are there and a room for Saturday for speakers and the likes.

August 13th (friday) to August 15th (sunday check out) 2004

Hilton Hotel

The rooms will be suites that come with a seperate living room. You can get a room with one king sized bed or two double beds. The sofa in the living room pulls out into a bed.
$129 per night....so you do the math if you can get three people in a suite. It is in the heart of downtown Nashville in walking distance to EVERYTHING. It is also connected to Eddie George's sports bar.

Rennaissance Hotel.

Two queen size beds or a king. $129 per night. Still in the Heart of Downtown.
Hospitality suite and Lecture room.

A few blocks walk to downtown.

either a king or two queens. $95 per night.
(I have not seen this hotel yet)
All rates are BEFORE TAX.

all these hotels do not provide shuttle but there is a shuttle from the airport "Greylines" $11 one way or $17 round trip to each hotel.

I am waiting back to hear from the Holiday in which is a 2 minute cab ride from all the downtown action.

Ok Holiday Inn just got back to me

It is a very short cab ride $5 from downtown.

Again these rates are before taxes.
Again greyline shuttle from airport $11 one way or $17 round trip.

We can change the dates if everyone is uncomfortable with the dates but let me know

Well, at last count it was 4-3 if you count the officers votes - Sarah still hasn't voted. could be a tie.

If you just count the Board votes it's 3-2 Nashville.

Which way is it being computed? There was a controversy in 2001 as to how this was to be done. Please tell me it's worked out by now!!!!!!

well I do know that Deej would want to go and listen to the live music on Broadway. You can all be "loud" on broadway with no shame.

These prices are all subject to availability and there are spaces right now, so the longer you take to decide.....
They also said they would hold the block of 50 for 1 month...you can all book during that time and be sure the room will be there..after a month you can still book but they cannot promise the space.

The OUCH officers each have 1 vote, so it is counted in with the total. We are still waiting on 1 more vote for the tally to be official. Donna is correct in her post.

Great work Jayne (& others)!

I think it's a great idea to get things rolling as soon as possible. That gives people plenty of time to start planning & saving for the next convention. It's also usually easier to get a better rate with the hotel/convention center the earlier you can book it.
