Title: don't want to start a war...but Post by lelacks on Oct 18th, 2003, 1:37am Just out of curiosity, I'm asking all the women with CH if it's really true. Those who've had kids, that is. Is it really worse than childbirth? ??? Don't worry, answer honestly, I won't blab to the world, but it might help if my wife heard it once from real sufferers. Don't get me wrong, she's very understanding and supportive, but I'm not sure if she or anyone else can grasp the intensity of CH. I sort of see them as 45 minute contractions, 6 hours apart, lasting 1-2 months. That's one hell of a baby! :o Hang in there y'all. |

Title: Re: don't want to start a war...but Post by brain_cramps on Oct 18th, 2003, 8:26am geeze --- wish an old girlfriend of mine could see this! when she heard CH was known as "one of the worst pains known to man", her reply was always "that's because men don't know pain... WIMPS!" grant (who still occasionally misses her... with every shot ;)) |

Title: Re: don't want to start a war...but Post by catlind on Oct 18th, 2003, 4:37pm For me, natural childbirth with my last hit about an 8 on the pain scale, and a CH easily can top out at 10. One major difference is that at the end of labour, you have this beautiful little miracle to hold. At the end of a CH you have another one to wait for...and nothing good for all your suffering. Cat |

Title: Re: don't want to start a war...but Post by Karla on Oct 18th, 2003, 7:58pm I gave birth to twins naturally an hour in a half apart. I was in hard labor for 15 hours. I would take delivering a baby or two over having a cluster headache any day of the week. |

Title: Re: don't want to start a war...but Post by ebk3 on Oct 19th, 2003, 2:44am lelacks (sp?) Great question, one of the best I've run across on this site! I'm thinking perhaps you ought to re-title it/something that refers to your question. I think it would get tons of hits and replies. Ladies! I've quoted that theory to many people/ but never have I really in my heart of hearts believed it, until now, thank you all! L. Great description of the episodic Ch suffererer. We have virtually the same symptoms. 6 hours huh? mine are from 2 to 4 hours apart. Every year/ or sometimes I skip a year. Gene |

Title: Re: don't want to start a war...but Post by Spindrift on Oct 19th, 2003, 8:09am I'd read about this amazing fact too but always doubted it. Not of course that this will ever cut any ice with women who've never given birth, or those who have but have never been through those really fun 2 a.m. brain pounding sessions.... Thanks all, SD |

Title: Re: don't want to start a war...but Post by Tiannia on Oct 20th, 2003, 12:18pm I've had two kids, one natural, the other with an epideral (Thank God) When these headaches started in July by September I would have given anything for it to have childbirth cause you know it is going to stop at some point and that you will have something to show for it. CH's are not giving, they simply take and the longer I deal with them, the more I realize that they not only take from sufferers but they take from everyone around us. |

Title: Re: don't want to start a war...but Post by oringkid on Oct 21st, 2003, 7:56pm Gotta get in on this one... I had no nothin' with my daughter. I even tore! (sorry guys) Childbirth was nothin' compared to a CH... I've often described CH to other women as kind of like giving birth through your eye! Definitely CH is worse than childbirth. Sherry |

Title: Re: don't want to start a war...but Post by Mikey on Oct 21st, 2003, 10:41pm I don't know about child birth of course, but i have lots of kidney stones that i have past, and a lot more on the way that are still in my kidneys. Passing a kidney stone is certainly no picnic, but i'm chronic, and would gladly pass several stones every day than to have several CHs a day!......Once, i past a kidney stone while having a KIP 10......didn't hardly feel the stone at all..LOL! Mikey, ;;D |
