Yep. but they usually WAKE me up.  If I DO sleep thru the night it's usually a "shadow" in the morning when in a cycle. if the coffee doesn't abort them, then they will sometimes get full blown.

If you wake up with a shadow - GET UP immediately - don't lay there and THINK it will go away. It won't!!!! CH doesn't like you to be still for some reason. I've found out that if I lay there (no matter how tired I am) it will turn into a full blown one --- sometimes getting up will abort it - if I get to the O2 or coffee in time.

Good luck in this....   Hugs BD

I am one of those that CH wakes first thing in the morning. I never use to get them at night like so many here. Only during my last cycle 1 1/2 yrs ago did I awake a few times during the night with one. I have mine first thing in the AM and then throughout the day like clockwork. At least I get to sleep at night, but it's challenging to get thru the day. I don't go too far from home usually when I'm in cycle because I get hit during the day.
Hey Jonny! Can we take a poll on who gets hit in the day instead of the night?!  :)  I know how much you LOVE polls!

I get hit upon waking and continue to get hit at the same time every day throughout the day.  It sucks!  I am however, gratefull that I don't get hit at night like so many of you so sleep is never a problem for me.

I'm sure waking to a CH is very common. Although they usually wake me about an hour or so after I fall asleep, the shadows are what I wake with. (very common)

At the beginning of a cycle, I can count on a pre-bedtime hit .........then, ...........i am always awakened at about 4:30-5:00am with another hit.........this continues while cycle builds in intensity...........about two or three weeks into cycle hits start coming mid  morning, and then afternoon and then it just goes nuts and I'm going throughout the day into the night...........up to six attacks per day....

Sound familiar?????

Dose happen every now and then.  Not enough for a pattern.

I just feel it to be coincident with normal get up time.  Just the thing to start the day.

Happens to me all the time.  When I am in cycle, I am almost assured a wake-up call between midnight and 3 AM at least four times a week.  Rarely are they terrible beasts, but bad enough that I cannot lie still.  If I don't do my O2 right away, they usually grow in intensity.

I am a evening, morning and bedtime CH getter.  I go to bed then wake withing a 1/'2 or so with a CH.  If I wait for it to go away, I end up laying there for hours in pain.  If I take a shot, I go to sleep.

Morning. About 1/2 before I would wake I get awaken with a headache already in progress.  Too late to do anything, I have to take a shot (of imitrex)

The evening is up for grabs,  can be 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 ,8,9, 10 pm, can't tell, never know for sure.

As an experiment, I took several cyclobenziprine left over from when I hurt my back to try to sleep Saturday night.   Interestingly, the moderately excessive dose, kept me asleep until 2 PM, then I went back to bed at 3 got up at 10pm.  Not normal, but the sleep sure felt nice.  I did not get a headache that day.  I did not get one the next day either.   I looked like a zombie.  Bed,..need bed,,...must have bed ! ZZZzzzzz.

Problem is, no one can live like that, doped up on muscle relaxers.  And these suckers really enduce sleep.

I kept getting them 1/2 hour after waking on the weekend, even if they weren't in the normal time. I figured out that I was sleeping too late on the weekend, I cut my sleep to 5 hours and the after waking ones stopped. They are back now with 5 hours sleep so I guess it is time to cut back to 4 or just live with them. I also stopped the wake up calls at 2 am by sleeping on an incline. They too are back.
