Hi Guys :)

I was wondering if anyone would be willing to share how long their first cycle lasted if they are episodic?

This is our first go around with this and was just curious. Thanks!

About two months (of hell) - then I was diagnosed and started on DHE-45 and it got broken and I was good for about 6 months till the next one hit.

Went on that way for years (two episodes a year) - until 97 when they just didn't stop (went chronic) and have been that way ever since.

When I was episodic - the episodes usually lasted about two months. The first month was "tolerable" - the second was "hell" and I usually ended up with the DHE-45 before they ended.

Thanks Barbara. That seems to be my DH's pattern to. First month was hard to bearable, second month has been non stop hell. We are at the end of the second month now.

My first one started in late August of last year and lasted until just before Christmas.

My cycles have always been 4-5 months in length with 18-24 months in between. Of course, everyone is different.

10+ yrs of spring and fall cycles lasting baout 1 month and only at night.

It was like this consistently until 2004.

The '04 cycle is still going

31 years....but I was chronic from the get go....so I dont count in this one. ;)

My very first cycle was when I was 16 and it lasted for about 12 days. That was back in 1990. Now I get a cycle about every 18 months that lasts for 40 days.

My first cycle was Sept 2003. Didn't break until I was hospitalized in November and had the DHE or what I thought they called Raskin treatment, whichever or whatever I am or was not sure. Did not return until Jan 7, 2008. Guess I should be thankful but for now they are brutal and daily. I am sure praying the end is near and that my cycles are not going to change and start coming more frequently!!!!

I've been (off and on) bi-annually episodic for the last 22 years. My clusters have come in the spring and fall and usually lasted 4-8 weeks.

I have recently enjoyed a 3 year remission from the beast. This ended over the holidays of 2007 when I got a bought of the flu.

I've been fighting him since then.

my first lasted only 5 days. Got hit once a night 4 out of the 5 days. Skipped the next year, then had 1 or 2 cycles a year for about 5-7 years years. Just had a 4 year remission that ended in early January
