Title: Verapamil/Covera ?
Post by 65fstbk on Feb 1st, 2008, 9:31am
Just a quick question....after some reading here, it seems alot of you taking Verapamil are using the sustained release .... I was just wonder what I am taking   :-[  It was a few years ago that the Dr prescribed Verapamil...240mg tablets/twice a day...total of 480 mg...my insurance has  a deal where I can send in for "maintenance" drugs for a 3 month supply for $2.00...which of course I did...the only "catch" was I have to take the generic if available, and the Dr. allowed it. What I received was Covera HS...I assume thats the generic name of Verapamil...how-ever, what is "HS"..I have no complaints, as long as I take the pills on time, they seem to be working,I was just wondering if it was the sustained formula?..The only side effect is when I'm taking it, I sure do seem to tire easily :-/  But (as I have read on here) thats to be expected...Ill take the trade off..PF days and good sleep at night...thnx

Joe

Hello there:

The Covera HS seems to be a brand name, extended release form of Verapamil (generic name).  Here is a link for some more information:

With best wishes,

Your pharmacist is always a good source of information like this.

There are also links (left) which are good to explore.
