Title: They are gone now!
Post by Patrick_A on Jan 24th, 2008, 5:51pm
I stopped taking the Vearapamil last Friday and I haven't had any re-occurances as of yet. I think they are gone for this cycle.
One thing I am sure of, The next time it comes, I will go straight to my Dr and get the Prednisone and Verapamil combo.
I suffered needlessly this cycle and knew better, but i just hated the side-effects. No way will I go through that again!
Thanks all, I will visit from time to time to offer my support and limited knowledge. :)

Patrick_A ;)

Patrick, please ignore the post above mine the man is a pot stirrer, his advice is pretty far out there!!!

So sorry you had a bad bout. They suck. Do stick around, you have more knowledge just from your personal suffering then you probably realize. Many times people just need the ear of someone who really understands their pain, clearly you know about that!!

Wishing you a lengthy remission! ;;D

Hi Patrick. Glad to hear you might be out of cycle. I am 30 days today since my last Verapamil. NO HITS!! [smiley=thumb.gif]

Re: the meds, I have 2 scripts from my Neuro, 1st one for a Pred. taper, and the 2nd for Verapamil, and most important all o2 tanks full! If and when my cycle starts again I am 1/2 a mile from my Pharmacist, my script is ready without having to make an appointment to see a Doc, I will have my meds in minutes.

Enjoy your PF time! ;;D

Patrick, I am not a pot stirrer. I am geuinely interested in your case as everyone else's.

When you say you hate the side effects and "No way I will go through that again" ...what are you talking about?

Glad your out of cycle bud.

The only person in this board who dont know what your talking about is the S*hithead asking questions.

Dont bother to answer him.

Great news Patrick!  I hope you do stick around.  We need people here that are out of cycle to give encouragement and provide support.

Oh and...Pay no attention to the idiot.  If he had done half as much reading on the topic as he's spent telling everyone else about it, he'd already know.

Don't EVER tell me you're interested in my case, buttmunch. There are 3 people who are interested in my case: Me, my wife, and my neuro.

The people here - my chosen family - are interested in ME.

God, that kind of shit pisses me off.

Patrick, one more thing I have learned here and that is never let your guard down. I am out of cycle for now and will enjoy every minute of it but I will still keep my portable o2 in my car and my full "m" tank at home, just in case! ;)

Please stick around even out of cycle, some other's need your advise and support. :)

Awesome Patrick!   I'm so happy for you :)

You don't HAVE to go now that you're out of cycle. There are plenty of others who could use your support, and we always have a spare oar.  Besides, we kinda like ya.

Hugs,
Jen

oh and btw: ignore the newest village idiot JEG.

Uh yea man. My neuro had me injecting the Prednisone on a 7 day taper and I was snorting 240 mgs of Verapamil a day. So as you could well imagine, There were lots of side effects.

Congrats Patrick. Tis the time of year when a lot of us episoders limp across the finish line. As a postmenopausal woman, I seem to have developed a mild chronic pattern in addition to the episodic (us girls are quite the multi-taskers). This cycle has been more worser than any.

I have been PF for about 5 days. Don't trust it yet. Removed the clonopin, not sure when to stop or taper Verapmil. Of course I never let the O2 bottle out of sight. Hopefully I will soon be in the care of a "thorough" neurologist. Am "firing" my regular doc soon, am interviewing a couple of others to see how they operate.

I guess some of the other responses went over my head but who am I to complain. Y'all have gotten me through a rough winter.

I'm glad to see this one is over Patrick.  Looks like you lived and learned a bit.  Don't be a stranger.

Lots of PFDAN!
