Title: NY Times health site Post by Bob_Johnson on Oct 2nd, 2007, 9:12am Today's TIMES announces a new site devoted to health information: http://www.nytimes.com/health . At first glance, it looks like the quality material you expect from the Times but a search under "CH" popped up quite basic stuff of no value to us. I'm not being critical of the Times for such limited material (given the general readership) but it does, once again, indicate just how small a minority we are. (I'm surprised how few folks have read my post on medical education in this section. It gives the evidence of why it's so difficult to find a doc who KNOWS--but it's also is fair warning that we need to assertively search for good care and not take the first referral our primary care doc gives. But, talking to the choir....) |

Title: Re: NY Times health site Post by phil_h on Oct 2nd, 2007, 6:03pm Thank you again Bob. I copy every thing you post and research the others My MD seems genuinely pleased to updates and other sources. I must say the Times treatment of CH's was offensive. It minimized the entire condition . I almost expected to thier data to refer to CH's as whiner's syndrome. Disappointing..... phil h |

Title: Re: NY Times health site Post by Ctech on Oct 3rd, 2007, 2:17pm I read the link and found it to be in line with most of the stuff I have read about CH - not very helpful for us or the cause. I did find their description of the "typical CH sufferer" a little interesting though and I am going to post a separate thread about it asking who here relates to it. -Chris |
