Title: Abdominal Pains and CH Post by Big_OUCH on Aug 24th, 2007, 2:27am For the past 2 weeks I've been hit by abnormally bad CH pain (I'm chronic) and at the same time I've been getting severe, sharp abdominal pains. When the CH eases off, so do the abdominal pains-has anyone else ever experienced this? Am I neurotic (a common condition for those who live in NYC) or does anyone know of some connection (between the abdominal and CH pains, not my neurosis)? |

Title: Re: Abdominal Pains and CH Post by LeLimey on Aug 24th, 2007, 2:40am Try googling Stomach migraine - I thought it was a joke but apparently its a real condition.. I heard about it at the Migraine Trust annual conference here last year. |

Title: Re: Abdominal Pains and CH Post by MJ on Aug 24th, 2007, 11:30am Big OUCH yes it is a very real syndrome that can accompany many types of headache. Serotonin is thought to play a large role in CH and headache of many kinds as well as other ailments. Serotonin is heavily located and or synthesized in the stomach and intestinal tracts. Many medications for CH including CBs, tryptophans, et al.. are involved in regulating or modifying serotonin. Children have been known to experience migraine exclusively in the stomach areas with no head pain. An in depth search on Serotonin will help explain this. |

Title: Re: Abdominal Pains and CH Post by starlight on Aug 24th, 2007, 10:20pm That's weird. I used to get something like that on and off when I was just starting high school (about the same age clusters set in). I swear to God I'm not making this up--when they hit they would start when I was taking a shower in the morning and I would be doubled over in pain and basically exit shower and get into a weird scrunched up position on my bed and just wait till it was gone--probably lasted about 20-30 minutes--never figured out what that was--got them on and off for about a year--they hurt like hell though. |

Title: Re: Abdominal Pains and CH Post by Brewcrew on Aug 24th, 2007, 11:54pm Pastorius started his musical career as a drummer (following in the footsteps of his father, a stand-up drummer) but when he was 13, he injured his wrist while playing football. At that time he was in a nine-piece horn band called Las Olas Brass (which covered popular material of the day by Aretha Franklin, Otis Redding, Wilson Pickett, James Brown and the Tijuana Brass). Rendered unable to play the drums, he decided to fill in the spot left open by the recently departed bass player. |

Title: Re: Abdominal Pains and CH Post by Big_OUCH on Aug 25th, 2007, 7:04am God, I would hate to grow old like you and be so bitter; maybe it is not too late for you to get a life away from the computer. By the way, Ms Manners, would you please let me know the exact number of months or years that must pass before I can state that I like someone here? [/quote] |
