Title: Re: tic in eye on cluster side? Post by rolo65 on Jul 30th, 2007, 7:16pm I get the eye twitch some times, and a twitching nerve in my inner ear usually right before an attack. I was told it is the muscle in the ear drum that tightens the drum to reduce transfer of loud noises. It drives be batty some times. My therapist says it's from not breathing properly resulting in electrical spikes from my heart telling my brain it needs more O2. I then found if I breathe deeply and regularly for 5 min or so it goes away. I still get the CH attack though postponed slightly from the controlled breathing I guess. PFD&N-Roland. |

Title: Re: tic in eye on cluster side? Post by Rosybabe on Jul 30th, 2007, 8:18pm I do have that flickering thing on my right eye but I was told it is a nerve that gets excited and jumps of joy ;;D...I asked the Doc and he says is a stress reaction ..a tic and will go away when I am relaxed. I am out of cycle now so I hope it does mean I am having another cycle this year ! :(... |

Title: Re: tic in eye on cluster side? Post by Redd on Jul 30th, 2007, 10:11pm I DO get the twitchy eye on the cluster side. I had some real bad spasms for a few weeks that indicated to me that the beast was trying to break through my defence systems, (see www.clusterbusters.com ) and I nipped the return in the bud/butt (semantics be damed). It would be too easy to treat us if we all were exactly the same. I wonder if the beast is in cahoots with the medical community in some way to keep everyone guessing. Just a bad joke...sorry my humor is lacking right now. |

Title: Re: tic in eye on cluster side? Post by George_J on Jul 31st, 2007, 2:26am Yeah, I get the eye-twitch thing. Blepherospasm. Funny thing is, now that I've been cycling once every three years instead of twice a year, I still get it (along with the "neck thing" and the waking up during REM sleep) during my old CH cycles during the spring and fall. It doesn't develop into a full-blown cycle, but the secondary side-effects still show up. If things go according to the way they have, I shouldn't have to worry about an actual cycle until the spring of 2009. But who knows, eh? Damn thing's been like a clock. Hope it stays that way, and I hope it continues to run down. We'll see. Best, George |

Title: Re: tic in eye on cluster side? Post by swimchica623 on Jul 31st, 2007, 7:22am Do you drink more caffeine when in cycle than normal? That can trigger those twitches for anyone, and it could be flat out coincidence that it is in your hit side, or just because that side is far more stressed out or something like that. Lisa |

Title: Re: tic in eye on cluster side? Post by billyjoe on Jul 31st, 2007, 9:19am Now that you mention it, I had the eye twitch on my CH side prior to this cycle. I remember asking my eye doctor about it. Never put it together and not sure of the timing. It may have ended prior to the start of the cycle. I'll be watching for it next time. |
