Title: Brain Freeze Post by mabus on Jul 10th, 2007, 12:20am Having finished a cycle about a month ago, getting a quick visit from Mr. Brain Freeze today brought back uneasy feelings. I've often described to friends and family that the only thing that I could compare CH to that they might uderstand would be brain freeze, and that certainly fit today, with the CH feel still fresh in my memory. I think we all know our personal limits as to how much (insert favorite frozen beverage here) we can drink/eat and at what rate is safe to avoid brain freeze. But I thought today that I was staying within my "limits", but Mr. Brain Freeze was insistent upon being present. Has anyone noticed a susceptibility to BF immediately after a CH cycle? |

Title: Re: Brain Freeze Post by Bob_Johnson on Jul 10th, 2007, 9:11am Curr Pain Headache Rep. 2005 Apr;9(2):109-12. Cognitive processing in cluster headache. Evers S. Department of Neurology, University of Munster, Albert-Schweitzer-Str. 33, 48129 Munster, Germany. everss@uni-muenster.de. [Edited for length.] In neuropsychologic evaluations, a reversible decline of memory processing was detected during the cluster attack, but not between two attacks. Long-term observation revealed no progressive cognitive decline in cluster headache patients over the years. With regard to personality changes, a liability susceptibility to anxiety disorders and to hypochondriasis, but not to mood changes, has been described inconsistently. All changes in alterations of cognitive processing in cluster headache are demonstrated to be mild and do not relevantly contribute to the clinical picture of this disease.
