Title: Re: i have a brain tumor Post by Patrick_A on Jul 6th, 2007, 10:05am Lots of love coming your way. My 1st inclination was to congratulate you on actually finding out what was wrong, but the fact it was a brain tumor kind of takes the joy out of it. Doesn't it? Hopefully it is a very simple procedure. Good luck, and let know what your prognosis is. Patrick_A |

If you need help with anything or if the two of you just want a break you're more than welcome to come and stay. By the sounds of it they've caught it early so thats good. What with early diagnosis and the strength of this place you've got the best team going mate. If you want to talk before sunday pm me your number and I'll give you a shout. Lots and lots and lots of love Helen xxx |

Title: Re: i have a brain tumor Post by Buzz on Jul 6th, 2007, 12:37pm I am truly, deeply sorry to hear about your tumour. It can be hard to see a bright side to such news, but there is one: You have all of our best wishes, prayers and strongest vibes. You are with people who genuinely care and who genuinely want to make sure you beat that little lump of good for nothing sheit! My friend beat (5 years' remission now) a very serious case of Lukemia through, he believes, visualising a little Pacman steadily gobbling up the extra white cells; try to imagine your own little pacman steadily munching his way through your tumour... believe it, and do it. ALL the time. Kind regards Paul |

Title: Re: i have a brain tumor Post by Sandy_C on Jul 6th, 2007, 12:46pm Holy crap! When we all search for a diagnosis, nobody wants to hear this kind of result. I'm so sorry, and I, too, hope it's an easy procedure. I'm sending every vibe I've got to you, not to mention a few prayers. Sandy |

Title: Re: i have a brain tumor Post by LeLimey on Jul 6th, 2007, 1:24pm Ike much as I'm always slating Lee its only in fun, he's one of my very best friends in the whole world and I would trust him with my life. If you get the chance to meet him - DO! (Just not on whatever day me and you meet up 'k?! ;) ) He has forgotten more about CH and brain pathology than I will ever know and if anyone can shed a little light on this for you he can. Much as it hurts me to admit it I really cannot praise this bloke enough and you can't go wrong listening to him. lots of love Helen |

Title: Re: i have a brain tumor Post by Lotus on Jul 6th, 2007, 7:11pm So sorry to hear of this news and sending all prayers and vibes that I have to you. I am amazed they broke the news to you by mailing the result directly to you! In Australia, such diagnosis has to be given in person by a doctor, preferably your GP so that not to shock the patient and so that any question can be answered satisfactorily. I hope it makes you feel a little bit better to know that the pituitary is the most accessible gland of the head. It makes surgery a lot easier than other parts of the brain. Pituitary gland tumours often respond to hormone treatments very well. There are many ways they can shrink it either by meds or by radiation. Surgery may not be necessary. http://www.pituitary.org/faq/ I am very glad you have Prof Goadsby. You are in good hands and I wish you all the very best for a successful, quick and easy treatment and complete recovery. Annette |

Title: Re: i have a brain tumor Post by sandie99 on Jul 8th, 2007, 3:46am I am so sorry for the news... [smiley=hug.gif] If you need to talk about it, I'm here. My father and my uncle both had brain tumors, so I know a bit about living with it. And I know that it makes a huge difference in what type of tumor you have and where it is located. This is the moment to fight! I must admit that it is a surprise to me as well that you got the news via mail; my dad was told it personally by his doctor. These things do vary. Hugs & prayers, Sanna |

Title: Re: i have a brain tumor Post by aloneuk on Jul 8th, 2007, 11:06am wow thank you all so much for kind words and support, it makes me feel alot better to know your all out there and im not so alone with this, im feeling ok at the moment and from what ive been told and read ive got it in the best place for treatment, im seeing my gp tomorrow to talk some more, i spoke to her on the phone on friday and she was great and answered lots of questions for me. it seems odd to be sad as i ''wanted them to find something'' so that this pain would stop and i could get on with my life. my gp tells me they are 99%sure its benign but they think its been there a long time and is most likly why my eye sight has got worse and worse over the last few years, but its only been my right eye and im almost blind in it now . ill keep you posted as i know more thanx for being here ike |
