Title: Melatonin and Aging? Post by George_J on Jul 3rd, 2007, 12:58pm Saw this referenced in the AARP Bulletin. Seems melatonin may act as an antioxidant, reducing the quantity of free radicals in the cells--which may slow the effects of aging. As much of this stuff as some of us take, I'd appreciate it if anyone would let me know whether they've reached the age of--say--140. Thusfar, I think we're only talking about immortal chickens, though. http://www.blackwell-synergy.com/doi/abs/10.1111/j.1600-079X.1995.tb00178.x Many thanks, George |
