I used it last cycle, but no success. I did not even feel the burn until the CH was gone. I'm in a cycle now & will not be using it again.... it just did not work at all. PF wishes! Aneta

It's been discussed numerous times on the board. There are some who say it provides a level of relief, but the side effects are pretty harsh. I hope you have alternative meds available to you as this certainly rates prety low as far as effective treatments shared on the board.

The "article" sounds more like an ad for SinusBuster than a serious attempt at reporting medical fact.  The "research links" they say are on the SinusBuster website does not exist as far as I can see.  The only links I find are to order the product and to e-mail the company.

Capsaicin was tried as an abortive and found largely ineffective, however it appeared to possibly have a preventative effect for some clusterheads. There have been studies done since 1989 (and before?) on the use of intranasal capsaicin for CH:

And in 2002 there was a study on Civamide, an intranasal capsaicin solution:

I think the fact that since this has been in the research pipeline since at least 1989 and we're still not seeing it regularly used in treating CH speaks volumes about its overall effectiveness.

I posted a comment to that website:

Quote: "Clinical studies show capsaicin spells significant relief for chronic cluster headache sufferers when taken through intranasal application."

Can you, please, give us a link or a reference to the above mentioned "clinical studies"?

Of the several hundred clusterheadache sufferers I know, none has reported "significant relief" from any sort of pepper preparation.

Let's see if it passes mioderartion.      ;;D
