Title: needing some help with question Post by dopey9499 on Jun 24th, 2007, 10:07pm ok i am not new to ch i have had them since i was 16 years old and now i am 28. I have just been given imitrex stat dose injections and they work well, I hate injections and needels but love this stuff so far this has been the only thing i have found that works. well i was given the perscription last week and was given 4 injections, well i used them up in 4 nights and when i called in my refills i was told i have to wait till next month to get them because the 4 should have lasted me for 30 days. so some questions i have is, should i not be using this stuff on every ch? and is there a way i can get this problem fixed because since i used the last injection friday i have to wait till monday to try to fix the problem and so last night i had to fight all 4 of the ch's with nothing at all. thanx in advance |

Title: Re: needing some help with question Post by thebbz on Jun 24th, 2007, 10:42pm Read the imitrex tip on the right. Insurance companies do restrict the consumtion of trex as it is so expensive. That and it is a migraine hand me down. Try coffee or a red bull on the ones you can get to quick. You need 02 as well. Keep in touch and let us know how goes it. How about a transitional med?Like pred or lithium? http://www.brightok.net/~mnjday/chtherapy.pdf Hang on and fight. |

Title: Re: needing some help with question Post by Bob_Johnson on Jun 25th, 2007, 6:42am Only your doc is in the position to both pressure the insurnace outfit for more meds AND to offer alternative abortives. I hope you are working with a doc who has broad experience in handling complex headaches situations. The first reply has a link which outlines current thinking on treatments. Suggest you print and take to our doc for a planning talk. Within that document is a reference to Zyprexa (olanzapine) as an abortive. Several of us have had good results and it's, on a per dose basis, much less expensive than Imitrex. He can give you a sample and you'll know within a dose or two whether it works for you. ------------------------ Explore these sites.
