Title: CH information addicted Post by cluster on Jun 18th, 2007, 8:47am Dear all, perhaps I should see a psychatrist about my addiction. ;) I just want to know all about CH. Register (free) with PubMed, Blackwell Synergy and so on and you can receive email notifications on saved searches like e.g. "cluster headache". Everytime a new article appears they will sent you an email then. When I post such "news from planet science" here it is merely for the information of all of us. I learn from your comments and opinions (and I think we all do) and would perhaps like to discuss. I do fully disagree with everything I have ever cited or posted a link to or will cite or post a link to in the future and usually I don't have any opinion at all. ;;D Here is some more news: Abstract: Supraorbital Nerve Electric Stimulation for the Treatment of Intractable Chronic Cluster Headache: A Case Report (http://www.blackwell-synergy.com/doi/abs/10.1111/j.1526-4610.2007.00869.x) There is not much information in this abstract, but if somebody whom no medications nor the alternatives help considers surgery, she/he might want to contact The Cleveland Clinic Foundation for more details on this case report. Here is another new abstract, and NO, my clusters are not linked to menstrual cycles: Abstract: Pure Menstrual Cluster Headache (http://www.blackwell-synergy.com/doi/abs/10.1111/j.1526-4610.2007.00870.x) There are more "Headache - Online early" articles (abstracts) here: http://www.blackwell-synergy.com/toc/hed/0/0 and here is the full table of content: http://www.blackwell-synergy.com/loi/hed There is some free full text in the January 2007 issue and some more in some of the other scientific journals January 2007 issues also. Just one more link, it is old (1999), I found it today: http://www.nature.com/jcbfm/journal/v19/n2/full/9590504a.html pf wishes, Friedrich |

Title: Re: CH information addicted Post by cluster on Jun 19th, 2007, 3:30am Hello Gator, thank you very much for the full text. First I thought this is another case report about the occipital nerve stimulation, but it is not. Quote: "To our knowledge this is the first report to describe the effectiveness of supraorbital nerve stimulation in the management of cluster headaches." "Supraorbital" is "above the eye" (and why don't these docs speak english?). This is the author of the article: http://www.clevelandclinic.org/cgi-bin/tgetimage.asp?Id=6000 Samer Narouze, M.D. (http://www.clevelandclinic.org/staff/getstaff.asp?StaffId=6000) Google knows more about supraorbital nerve stimulation. (http://www.google.co.uk/search?sourceid=navclient&hl=de&ie=UTF-8&rlz=1T4GFRC_deGB207GB207&q=supraorbital+nerve+stimulation) Has anybody here heard about this method yet? pf wishes Friedrich |
