Just thought I'd mention something that is so far in my past I hardly ever think about it.

I'm 54 now but started with CH when I was 14. Before then for as long as I can remember I would get regular nose bleeds. The slightest knock on my cheekbone would trigger a heavy bleed.

Since the CH started, apart from one time when I had a sinus washout when the docs thought I had sinusitis, I can't remember one single nose bleed.

Sorry Mike never had a nose but get many CHs since I was also 14 now I'm 42.Pain free days and nights.

Interesting, I also used to get heavy nose bleeds as a kid, sometimes for no reason, that stopped as I grew up but I only got CH when I was 36.
Somehow there is something that links us all but finding what it is is a real battle, does anyone know of a really comprehensive survey that's been done among Clusterheads, I mean one including family history, childhood illnesses, head injuries etc etc etc.

Every once in a while I wake up with a bloody nose....it has only happened a few times but always when I'm sleeping, which is when I get CH attacks. I've wondered if there is a connection between the two.

I used to get bad nosebleeds for no reason as a kid. I haven't had one in years now.

Ditto, had many nose bleeds as a kid -- ended up having a chemical cauterization <sp?> -- I'm 41 now, CH started at 21.

I am the one with the frequent nose bleeds and have had 2 cauterisations. I have allergy and sinus but not CH. My husband is the one with CH and he has only had a couple of nose bleeds since CH started from using Imigran nasal sprays.

I havent yet come across any literature that CH and nose bleeds are connected.
