Title: Dental work as a trigger...
Post by taraann on Jun 2nd, 2007, 6:33pm
The teeth removed are not actually triggering me.  It's the joint on the opposite side where I felt a ton of pressure when the doc was pulling before he decided he had to do surgery.  Oh man am I suffering these past 2 days with lots of cluster hits and they seem to be origionating from that joint in my jaw.  At times I was afraid he was going to pop

Anyone else ever experience this.  It's funny in an ironic way that it's the opposite side from my chipmunck cheek that is triggering my clusters so badly!

I'm a ridesider with the occasional lefty pingpong hit.

2 yrs ago I had an infection in my left wisdom tooth and it seemed to trigger a complete switch in sides.

It was only alleviated when the tooth was pulled and then went back to my favorite right side pain.

inflamation of the nerve.

Feel good

My clusters have normally come in the spring. It had been about 10 years or more since I had a fall cycle. Last Sept I had teeth pulled to get dentures and I began a cycle around a couple of weeks later, I also go 2 to 4 years inbetween cycles. I had just ended a cycle the year before. Did the teeth pulling do it? My Doc said with clusters you just never really know anything, you just do your best and keep tring to live through them. Thank God they left in March. I hope yours are better. Not much help was I. Paula

I fear for the day I need to go to the dentist, because the last two times I've been to see one I've got badly hit. In fact, it was a dentist visit which brought ch back into my life after nice PF period.

I was actually in a similar situation a couple years ago. Back in summer 2005 I had a bunch of fillings done, and in August of that year I had my wisdom teeth extracted. December of that year I went into a full blown cluster cycle on my right side. I can't say 100% weather all that dental work triggered the cluster cycle, but what I can say is that the headaches haven't come back since then. Now I need more dental work, two root canals and repair work on a broken tooth, and I'm petrified that it will trigger another cycle. Not having the dental work done isn't an option since I don't want to loose more teeth, but I don't want more clusters either. Since I don't see a way out of this situation I guess I'll just have to have the dental work done and pray that the headaches don't come back. :(
