Title: Too good to be true Post by MikkaB on May 16th, 2007, 1:08pm I can't believe that I've been pain free for so long. My last episode was July/August of '04. Normally it's about 4 weeks, and I was able to cut that one short to about 2.5 weeks with the water treatment. In January/February I started getting warning signs that another episode was on its way, then a few slight headaches at the end of April. Chugged a gallon of water every day for a week, and the episode never really hit. I even had a beer last Friday, and nothing happened. I'm so happy about this I could cry. It really seems to good to be true and I feel like I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop, but so far so good! |

Title: Re: Too good to be true Post by Lotus on May 16th, 2007, 7:51pm Great to hear you are painfree, I pray for you that it continues forever. By the way, what sort of warning sign do you get? How much water are you drinking per day now? Thanks for the info. Best wishes Annette |

Title: Re: Too good to be true Post by burnt-toast on May 17th, 2007, 9:05am It's great to hear that the nightmare may have passed you by. A word of advise, don't test things with alcohol until you're 100% certain you're not flirting with a new cycle. No sense tempting the beast. Hope all continues going well for you. Tom |

Title: Re: Too good to be true Post by MikkaB on May 17th, 2007, 9:29am Annette - I get what I believe has been referred to here as shadows; it's not quite a ch but the pain is in the same place and I get sort of a metallic taste in my mouth. They don't last long either. That happens anywhere from a couple of weeks to a month before a full-blown cycle. I'm drinking around 1.5 - 2 liters of water per day now. I've really been pretty lucky as far as how my cycles go (as lucky as someone with CH can be anyway). I have long periods in between episodes, only one headache per day while in an episode, and they only last a month at the most. |

Title: Re: Too good to be true Post by Lotus on May 17th, 2007, 1:40pm Thank you very much Mikka for your information. My husband tried the water treatment and although it helped a lot in reducing the intensity of the hits, it wasnt enough to stop them. However, his last cycle was really bad with 4-5 hits per day many Kip8 and the whole thing lasted nearly 10 months. I wonder if that means that the water treatment would work best for short, mild cycles but not enough for the longer , worser ones? Annette |

Title: Re: Too good to be true Post by Samiam on May 17th, 2007, 2:08pm I wished for me the water treatment would have been a cure for me also but for years (about 15) I drink anywhere from a gallon to a gallon and a half a day of spring water and I still got hit. In fact other then one 24 oz of coffee (decaf) in the AM that is all that I drink. So for me water wasn't the answer. As for warnings I only get some minor hits behind my left temple a couple of days prior to a cycle coming. But for the most part I just get hit and the cycle starts. Blessings, Sami |
