Title: Cycles ? Post by ncbmdub on May 11th, 2007, 10:06pm Newby here , searched without specific answers. Over the the last 5 years I have gotten cluster headaches. I am guaranteed to get them an hour after bed Tuesday- Friday. I occasionally get them during the day but a much shorter duration. 3 physicians have tried amatrex to zoloft without results except for a drugged me. The water buffalo and oxygen did not work. I tried a vegan diet, no salt( well, as little as possible) diet, exercise, and actually moved 3 times in case of environmental issues. Am I different in not having periods of no pain ? |

Title: Re: Cycles ? Post by UN solved on May 12th, 2007, 12:21am I am not sure of what question you are asking. I did want to comment that Imitrex and O2 rarely fail to help abort an attack. Since you misspelled Imitrex, it leads me to believe you didn't try it much. Give it another try and be sure to use the injections ( Of course with your doctors blessing and prescription ). Also, did I read that correctly. You have regular attacks except for on the weekends ?? That doesn't sound like clusters to me. Clusters don't know that it's saturday night. The beast comes regardless. If your getting breaks every weekend, it may be in part caused by stress, and may not be clusters at all. Goodluck UNsolved |

Title: Re: Cycles ? Post by ncbmdub on May 12th, 2007, 12:31am I tried imitrex ( ? ) for about a month , samples from the physician. Pills , not injections about 3 years ago. I went to Duke at Chapel Hill to confirm the temple busters were clusters. My work pattern varies, and i do work weekends. I do not know if being active outdoors , i.e. camping , makes the difference. My main question was do clusters continue over a 5 or 6 year period or do the come and go ? |

If you are asking whether a series of attacks continues or whether it comes and goes, then the answer is both. See the link for "cluster traits" at the left side of your screen. Some of us are episodics, others are chronics. Please see the definitions for each. Best, George |

Title: Re: Cycles ? Post by UN solved on May 12th, 2007, 12:43am pills are useless ... ask your doc for the 4mg injections. They should've known that the pills wouldn't be good enough and gave you the jabs to try already. It's like night and day. Goodluck Unsolved |
