I am approaching another yearly cycle it will be my 5th...

A question to those lucky enough to skip a few years, how long did you go through it before you were given a break so to speak?

HAven't skipped since '94 then went chronic in 2004.

It took me around 18 years before I finally SKIPPED a year. At my 25 year mark, I have now had 3 glorious years PF. One thing I would recommend though. DON'T WORRY !!! I see too many people come here and are scared to death that a cycle MAY be starting. Some even go so far as start popping pills just in case. :-/ If it happens, it happens. Just enjoy your PF time.

20 years.

I started at 20 y/o and they changed at 40 y/o.

I'm 56 y/o now and they get farther apart each time. Last remission 3 yrs 3 mos.

Mine didn't start till late in life and I'm still waiting for them to skip a year or two....

I didn't skip a year until after 15 annual episodes (with the exception of the year I was pregnant). Now it stretches out to 18 months between, when a cycle flips seasons on me. Thanks to an alternative treatment this year, I will probably be reporting soon that I've skipped an entire cycle.;;D

28 years of the beast ...

After my second cycle, I went 5 years PF ...

8 years ago, I went chronic ...

I don't know what your meaning of a break is anymore ...

My idea of a break, is right now ... Down to 6 or 8 hits a day!!! WOOHOO!!

Depends on what you mean by "skipped".

I went twenty years cycling twice a year, and then went to one a year for ten years. The last three cycles have all been three years apart. So--before I skipped a complete year, I guess, it was thirty years.

I started skipping a year between cycles after 9 years.
I used to get them every year for 3 months starting Nov. 9.
I don't know if this made a difference but the year I started skipping I said to myself I will not go into cycle on Nov. 9 damnit and starting in October I would jog a mile and a half every morning and then lift light weights for 15 or 20 minutes. I do not know if this made a difference, but that year I did skip a year and then my pattern changed where I began skipping a year.

Started in my late teens, clockwork 2X a year spring and fall, always about 12 weeks. Hit my mid 40's and it skipped a few years and followed up with an 8 month cycle! Hoping you get a loooong break!

Started at 23 (am 37 now) and have been fairly consistent at every 3 years between cycles since. About 6 weeks each cycle.
