Title: Back from Neuro appointment.
Post by Samiam on Mar 7th, 2007, 1:21pm
Ok Back from the Neuro's. Don't you know that I got there just in time for the beast to show his head.  Thank God it was only a 5.  The girl gave me an ice pack and I just rocked until the pain was doable. Doctor was running behind.

He gave me a nerve block in the back of my head and I got a script for O2 with non-rebreathable face mask.  Now to find it.

Well now I take it one day at a time.  I also got Imitrex.  Nasal.  Now to fight with the insurance company.

Sami

Check for Apria, who I use, in the yellow pages.  Many use Lincare too.

So far there isn't a generic for Imitrex it seems, check with insurance on their rate for non-generic, which no generic is made yet, it could be different and lower than a brand name drug that has a generic made for it, if you pay a deductable on scripts.

Hi Sami,

My name is Carrie, and I live in Narberth - so not far from you probably.  Nice to *meet* you.  I actually work at Jefferson as a neonatal nurse, and I see Dr. Young at Jefferson.  Been going to their headache center since 2001, and I've been hospitalized there a bunch of times - but ultimately they've been unable to help me much due to the nature of my 2 headache types.

I was wondering who you went to see?  Someone in the area?  A headache specialist?  Curious as to who else is around - and what other ideas are out there.

I've gotten O2 from 2 different companies around here.  Currently, I have my oxygen from JeffQuip which is Jefferson's home medical supply shop.  I have also used Heron Home Health, which has several locations.  Both deliver.

With the insurance co imitrex stuff - if the doc's office calls to let them know this is a medical necessity, will that get them to cover it or cover more?

Sorry you had the attack at the office but if you're going to have it somewhere, I honestly think that's the best place to have it.

Take care!
Carrie
