Title: New Development (for me)
Post by tanner on Feb 11th, 2007, 2:23am

The night before last in between hits I was sitting trying to recover for the next round when my left eye (CH) side started to lose vision. It was as if a blue shade was being drawn from the bottom to the top until I could not see out of that eye at all.

I could see light but no images at all. It lasted about 10 minutes which was about 1 minute before I was going to disturb Linda and freak out. It cleared up slowly and was followed by another attack. I am also noticing more blood mixed in with the nasal discharge on the affected side in the mornings after I have finally gotten some sleep.

Any thoughts........Tim

Don't freak out yet Tim. My left eye does this a lot of the time. It's like there's a film over the eye. I just see blurs. I've been the the optomologist (msp) about this and he can't find anything wrong - just tells me to use drops (without preservatives). Doesn't help much, but gives me something to do.

And the blood can be from dryness in your house (it's winter and all that). If it keeps up, but a vaporizor in your bedroom at night. Or stick some Vick's up your nose before you go to bed. That should clear that up pretty well.

Hugs BD

Daniel had that quite often too. Been to eye specialist had everything checked, even a vision evoked response test , all were normal.

However, if they seem to happen often, better double check with your doctor and maybe get a opthalmological review.

Apparently its caused by ischaemia ( lack of blood flow ) to the optic nerve during a hit.

Take care Tim.
