Title: Re: getting in the way of my life Post by JohnM on Feb 5th, 2007, 7:32am Hi Sanj Welcome to our world. Unfortunatly, most people who suffer from episodic CH do so for many weeks or several months at a time. They can't afford to take all these weeks off work or else they risk losing their job. You need to find an abortive (like Imigran injections) that you can take at work and knock out a CH quickly so that you can get back to work without taking any time off (or without pissing off your inconsiderate boss), and then work with your doctor to find a preventative that works for you. Read as much as you can on this board and maybe print out some stuff to take to the Dr to make sure he prescribes Imigran and anything else that may be worth a try. Trust me - your Dr probably knows less about CH than you do! John |

Title: Re: getting in the way of my life Post by burnt-toast on Feb 5th, 2007, 9:43am Many of us have been in your shoes. You haven't mentioned any help/treatments - If you're attempting to deal with this on your own, you're most likely suffering more than you need to. A cure may not be possible but there are ways to improve your condition. Take some time to look around/read and if you aren't currently under a doctor's care make it a priority to get some help. Best wishes, Tom |

Title: Re: getting in the way of my life Post by Mattrf on Feb 5th, 2007, 6:52pm Sorry you are having a rough time and I know the added stress of worrying about job security does not help at all, I wish I had some good advice for you but I work with a bunch of doctors in a research center and they all know what I have and are very supportive but I still worry about my job, even the best employer can take only so much missed work no matter how understanding they are or how hard you try not to let it interfere with work. I hope everything works out for you, I am sending some positive vibes your way, hang in there. Matt |
