Title: Strange headache
Post by downstairs on Jan 25th, 2007, 1:46pm
I'm 2 weeks into my first cycle ever, so pardon my newbie questions.

I've exclsuively had headaches that last 15 mins to 1 hour.  They range from KIP 1 to 8, but they seem to come and go in that time.

Last night I had a definate 10.  It sucked big time, especially since it was overnight while sleeping (well, I wasn't sleeping anymore).  That lasted an hour or so, which is normal.

Then at 7am I got something in the range of a 4... but it didn't go away... it lasted until like noon... went up to around an 8... 5 hours of in-and-out headache.

Is this normal?  Should I expect this from time to time, or is this an indication of something bad?

No medication worked on any of this (actually, at this point, nothing is really working for me- still trying to find the right meds for me).

My neuro didn't perscribe any.  I'm going to try to bug him to do that for me next time :(

It sucks.

Can I just get my own O2 w/o a perscription?  I mean... its oxygen... its not really controlled is it?

Just get some from your local welding supply shop

You should get him to prescribe it and make sure you get a high flow regulator and a non re-breather mask as well the tube things just don’t work.
Read everything you can here and print out and take it with you to your doctor to educate him as most people her have to, the neurologist normally just do not know enough to treat you properly and you have to help them.

Read the O2 info on the left.

Hope your cycle ends soon, welcome to the board.

Matt

It's not that strange my friend. Sounds like you may be in or close to the middle of a cycle.

The question was  "Can I just get my own O2 w/o a perscription?  I mean... its oxygen... its not really controlled is it?" If ya don't want to wait go the welders o2 route. I did and it was the best day of my life.

My husband very commonly has "residual pain" or a persistent shadow that can last for hours after a bad CH hit, especially a kip10.

What you described sounds like heavy shadowing and its not that rare.

Try oxygen, red bull and lots of water, it may help.

Painfree wishes to you.

Annette

Welcome to the family Down.

Get you some RED BULL and at the first sign of a headache down (don't sip it) a can of it. This sometimes helps.

What meds have you been on? Ergotomine usually helps mine after they riv up to about a 7-8 ( I don't take anything till then -- don't like meds). And it's a whole lot cheaper than Imitrex.

Keep us up to date on your progress.

And what you're having sounds like a shadow.  That's common so don't get upset yet.

Hugs BD

Sounds like very heavy shadowing to me. I've had bouts where I will get a kip 8-10 for an hour, come out of that down to a level 3 or 4 shadow for abojut a half hour then go right back into the mosh. Sounds like what is happening to you.

Definitely get some o2 and Red Bull.

Peace,
Carl D

Thanks all... the 10 headache + 5-hour beast was followed by 24 hours pain free... so who knows.

Just FYI... Red Bull, Taurine, caffeine... none of that works for me.

O2- I'm trying my best to get that going... neuro is giving me a hard time, my doctor is an idiot so I don't even want to try that.

Keep trying.  Oxygen has done more for me than anything else I've tried, and with no side effects.

I am... it is frustrating... it's easier to get drugs than simple ol' oxygen!

i just posted a new thread asking about the welder's oxygen.  I'm willing to do anything at this point.

We'll keep bumping this up.  I know there are folks here with info on the commercial O2 fix.

Thanks!

Although, I guess technically they should respond to this thread:
