Title: How does it end? Post by 5yearsteve on Dec 21st, 2006, 12:31am I forget how it was last time. At the end of a cycle do they abruptly quit? Gradually ease off? Magically dissappear?...... |

Title: Re: How does it end? Post by georgej on Dec 21st, 2006, 1:04am Most generally (at least in my case) with a whimper, not a bang. They just fade away, becoming less frequent and less intense until they go away altogether. Then I take the beer test. If I pass, they're done. Until the next time. Best wishes, George |

Title: Re: How does it end? Post by ax on Dec 21st, 2006, 2:17am I get a few days of big 5 hour whoppers. Then Skip a few days, then 2 or 3 light ones. For me, I've never had a cycle end while taking something to abort. I don't know if it's a coincidence, but I don't want to prove it either. I do slam three or more glasses of water right at the first sign of a HA during the end. It helps a lot, but I also don't normally drink water- always a soda, coffee, OJ, etc... |

Title: Re: How does it end? Post by TonyYZF on Dec 21st, 2006, 12:42pm Boy do I wish I knew the answer to that one. Sorry this doesn't help you. I've been in cycle since July. When it ends, I will let you know how it happened. Keep your chin up. Tony |

Title: Re: How does it end? Post by Guiseppi on Dec 21st, 2006, 12:48pm Mine end differently. Some cycles just stop, some fade away, sometimes they mess with me by going away for a week and then hitting me for a few weeks. Sorry, it's just one more quirck of the beast. Guiseppi |

Title: Re: How does it end? Post by MorDog on Dec 21st, 2006, 5:00pm My cycle usually ends the same way it starts. I will get hit one or two days, then skip 2 - 4 days then another hit, then they are usually gone. I usually get those zaps towards the begining and end of my cycle too. The hits at the end of my cycle can be just as intense as mid-cycle hits. I always wished they would taper off so I could predict the end better. :-/ |

Title: Re: How does it end? Post by PGrossi on Dec 25th, 2006, 11:32pm Same here, I haven't had a drink in a while and would love to have a glass of wine or a scotch. This is the first sober Christmas Eve/Christmas day in years. Hoping they end soon, so I can have that celebratory drink on New Year's Eve to send the beast in hiding for at least a few more years. |

Others wait longer (but hey, I'm a thrill seeker). If I haven't had a hit or a shadow for a week, I take the beer test. Only takes one--or just a couple swallows, really. If I get slammed, I flunked. So I wait some more before trying it again. If I don't get slammed, I passed, and usually I'm good to go until the next cycle. But that's just me. Some wait for thirty days before trying it. Depends on whether alcohol gets you or not when you're in cycle. With me, it's about the only sure trigger I have. Out of cycle, I'm just like anybody else, and can have a beer or two with impunity. I'm not much of a drinker, so much more than that's pretty unusual for me at any time. In cycle, though, I'd rather point a loaded .38 at my big toe and pull the trigger than drink anything with alcohol in it. Best, George |

Title: Re: How does it end? Post by wobwood55 on Dec 27th, 2006, 12:55am This is my third year with this problem and for me it is seasonal. it starts in october and ends in about march. but the way i know it is ending is when im in my pain cycle i feel preassure in the back of my neck, but as it ends the pressure transfers to my temples and then i feels a slight pop. the next weeks my brain is sore and fattigued but the hell is over. im soory for the mis spelling and grammer errors but im in the middle of my season now and just trying to cope. hang in there. my first two years i went completly unmedicated and unassisted, hospitals and doctors treated me like a junkie trying to get a fix..... sorry im starting to vent on you when all you wanted was an answer. soorry. hang in, just look for the preassure transfer, but im seeing its a little different from person to person. 8) |

I would literally make it thropugh the night and then 2, 3 and so on and it was gone until the next cycle. I'll let you know if this ever happens again. Been a long almost 3 yrs now.... Life's good though :) |

Title: Re: How does it end? Post by mynm156 on Dec 27th, 2006, 2:03pm before I went chronic it was a quick digression. i would peak and then it would stay strong for several weeks (my season was about 10-12 weeks) then when it was time to end it would ramp down in about a week then nothing. |
