Title: how delightful !!! Post by chopmyheadoff on Dec 7th, 2006, 3:07am just thought id do a quick post to express how delighted i am at one of my collegues at work !! he was asking why i looked a bit tired and i said the usual "oh i didnt gety much sleep, i have a rare headache condition". he came nack with the usual "what , like migranes ?". i simply said, "well yes kind of, but worse". now he didnt spin off into the usual "yes i get bad headaches " crap, but instead he sat down and insisted i tell him all about it, what causes it, what it feels like and what i have available to treat it, he got me to show him the injector kit and eyerything !! the fella actually looked genuinly interested and really wanted to know what i was going through and actually seemed to understand !! i am bowled over , really, i wasnt expecting that !! just thought id share ;;D |

Title: Re: how delightful !!! Post by Sandy_C on Dec 7th, 2006, 4:56pm It does give you a good feeling when someone actually takes the time to listen, and wants to learn about what is afflicting you. So far, the only ones I've had that pleasure with are some close friends, and my husband. Those of my friends who understand, and have actually seen my hits, always ask me how I'm doing and are happy for me when I tell them I'm still pain free. |

Title: Re: how delightful !!! Post by allets on Dec 9th, 2006, 2:28pm I can relate to your enthusiasm. I had an incredible similar experience a couple days ago. I'm just winding down from my cycle after 7 years of being PF. I went to my GP and he didn't have a clue but at least he sent me for an MRI, blood work, to a neurologist and an optomologist. Well the neurologist wasn't much help, he tried to tell me he didn't think they were CH. Why I don't know. I had been diagnosed with CH by a neurologist many years ago. I had a cycle every 1-3 years for 40 years and he has doubts? Anyway I go to the optomologist Wed. and I told him why my doctor had referred me. He said oh my wife has CH. She has had them since she was 9 and is now 48. She has them so bad her face gets paralized. I was so excited that I met a real live body that knew what I was talking about. He had been all over the country trying to find help for her. And he was aware of o2 being of help. He even told me if I didn't have a mask to put the nose piece in my mouth and crank it up to 5 or more. It was so good to talk to someone that could relate!! |
