Glad you've been able to sleep the past couple of nights, Dave.

By this 2 or 3 on the kip scale, are you talking about constant low-grade pain, or separate minor attacks, or just a lingering shadow?

Here's hoping that things continue to improve...

Best wishes,

George

Dave, no offense but I believe you suffer from another form of headache.

My guess is Hemicrania Continua. Please read this ACHE article, see if this fits your headache symptoms.

Make sure you discuss all your symtoms with your nuerologist.

Sounds like the beast was napping and just giving you shadows for a couple of days.

Then he woke up.

Have you tried melatonin 30 mins before bed to ward off the beast at night? It works quite well for many here including my husband. Before using Melatonin, he was up at 4 am like an alarm clock with a hit, now he sleeps through most nights, maybe getting a hit once or twice a fortnight, but much milder too.

You can start the Melatonin from 6 mg then increasing by 3 mg every 3 days or so up to around 15mg to see if it will help.

Good luck and painfree wishes to you.

Annette

What meds are you taking?

Preventative and abortive?

Melatonin can be a mini miracle for many in warding off the night visits.

Hope you catch a break and please print out as much info as u can to give to your doc.

PF wishes

I don't take any meds anymore either with exception to aborting with oxygen.
I decided that since I was still having attacks at fairly high levels anyway and I was sick of the side effects that I was having that I was done.

As far as the article regarding HC, it is certainly worth a try because if you happen to be having another HA type instead of or in addition to CH it will be prevented with indomethacin, if in fact it is HC or another similar HA that is not CH.

Pain Free is pain free my friend.
Explain that to your wife.

Good luck!!

Eric
