Hello to all,

Just so you can know I first had CHs back in August of 2001. That cycle was about a month long and I would get 1 or two a day. After that cycle finished I basically forgot about them after a year or two and thought I would never have them again. Well exactly 13 days ago today It all started again. It was a little different because I was getting 3 a day and at different hours ago but the anxiety leading up to them and the pain level was the same.

I immediately googled to find this site again and began to read again to re-familiarize myself with this whole BS. I wasnt even going to go to the neuro but the good folks here in clusterville told me I should go. But all for nothing because she didnt want to prescribe the oxygen and I decided not even to take the meds she gave me (Axert) The packaging says it takes 30 minutes to take effect and my CHs are 45 to 60 minutes and by the time this takes effect im past my Kip level 10 pain anyways.

Well yesterday something strange happened. My usual 5 pm attack was very mild maybe a Kip 5 and it only lasted 20 minutes (they usually last at least 45 minutes. Then I got one at 11:30 pm (which i never had before) but it also was a KIP 5 and 20 minutes. Didnt get my overnight attack, didnt get my 1 pm (Today) and didnt get my 5 pm. So basically I havent got my last 3 "scheduled" attacks. Its been over 24 hours more like 27 hours.

Can it be possibile that only after 13 days my cycle could be over???

Has anyone had such a short cycle and what has been your shortest cycle?

Any and all info is greatly appreciated.

Hi Hector. I'm episodic, and my cycles average 5-6 weeks. I have had only one short cycle which lasted about 20 days. It was out of character not only for being shorter than the norm, but also for showing up in the summer instead of spring or fall.

6 to 8 weeks pretty much every time. When I was first starting out with CH, I used to have a singleton out of the blue every once in awhile--but that was a long time ago.

It is possible.
Just relax and enjoy being PF.
Try not to sweat the possibilty of them coming back and live life regardless.

Well it lasted a total of 30 hours PF,at 4 am (scheduled) I was hit but again by a very short KIP 5.

Shortest = 5 weeks
Longest = 5 months

These things change/morph over time and pattens change. When mine start they are random and all over the place--then organization begins with timing and numbers.

Hope yours are over, but don't count the chickens yet.

Shortest = 9 weeks.
Longest = 17 weeks.

shortest= 6 weeks
longest= 16 months

first= 1998
last= current

favorite CH= the time i knocked me self out during a kip 10

worst timed CH= during a wedding

shortest - probably 6 weeks
longest - more than 6 years (so far)

Shortest - 8 weeks
Longest - 12 weeks(then 4 weeks PF, then another 4 weeks on the opposite side)

Hector,

I'm new here myself, on only my second episode, but you and I sound like we could be twins!

Same with me, I had approx a 16 week episode ending Aug of 2005. I , too, thought I was done but, whhhheee ....As of Oct 25th, that devil is BACK!

Not only has my pain level changed ( originally once a night but KIP 7 or 8 for 2 hours at a whack ) but it's changed sides as well. Originally on the right, this time on the left. KIP only about a 5 and, like you, lasts only 20 minutes but it's every hour on the stinkin' hour!
Go figure!

I am grateful for the prednisone I picked up in Mexico last summer, I'm using it now so I don't know how long this episode will last but I'll let you know. Not quite a week yet.

I've got plans to find a Dr also.

3 weeks was my shortest. That happened after I quit using imitrex.

Shortest cycle was 8 weeks and used Imitrex every day during the cycle as always. :P

Believe it or not my shortest cycle (The most recent one I've had) was a week and a half, if that! I wouldn't have even called it a cycle but trust me it was wierd!
