Title: HOW MUCH REDBULL IS TOO MUCH?
Post by clusterwife on Oct 5th, 2006, 9:58am
I'm wondering how much caffiene is too much, like deadly?  He drinks sodas and coffee all day.  How many Redbulls are safe to drink to abort the beast?  Thanks for your time and answers!  Take care, Leah. [smiley=wave.gif]

One should be enough to abort an attack if you get to it at the first sign.

I drink cafeine all day so I don't have a clue how much is too much.

I usually try to back off when I feel like I have Parkinsons and can't sleep. That's my first indicator. Of course I'm one of those who believes that if one is ok, several must be wonderful. (As I sit at my desk drinking a cup of coffee and a can of Red Bull)  Dick

I usually have herb tea, water, and coffe at my desk.  My last energy drink was a 24 oz locarb Monster, but it lasted from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

I do not think you guys are going there.

Once I've seen God, I tend to back off a little.

My Monster Lo-Carb says "Consume Responsibily-limit three cans per day".  Can't imagine them saying there was a limit unless more than three could really cause problems.  Most caffeine consumed in 24 hours by me during cluster: 10 cups coffee, two double shots espresso, 4 Rock Stars.  However-I didn't drink any diet colas that day ::)  And I did this after waking up at 3:30 am-after sleeping only 3 hours-and while getting blasted by hits and shadowing in between.

But nothing bad happened from the caffeine.

sh....did you hear that...never mind-just my pulse

So, why do you ask?

Back here in Finland 250ml Red Bull can advices not to drink more than 5 cans. 330ml Teho energy drink advices to use 3 cans. 750ml carton of energy drink advices not to drink more than one carton a day.

Personally I have never needed more than 2 Red Bulls/day. And when I've taken caffeine tabs, 2 (that's 200mg of caffeine) has been enough. I'm short, thin and get no caffeine outside energy drinks, caffeine tabs and vicks red energy tabs (which have 25mg of caffeine/tablet), which I only take when I get hit or shadows.

Here's some more info:

Best wishes & PF days,
Sanna

I've gotten rebounds, but never a rebound cluster.  I might end up with a throbbing tension headache, but those a couple of asprin will take care of.  A fine trade if you ask me.

This is the point in which you can wash and wax a semi tractor and trailer in about 15 minutes! (then look for something else to do)    Dick

Leah,

I think what everyone is saying is that Red Bull will hype you up, but in comparision to the pain - it's a good trade off.

Thanks everybody!  I just don't want to see my hubby overdose on caffiene.  I've heard of people dying from too much water consumption, and figured there had to be limits to his caffiene intake.

This might explain the 'episode' a couple of weeks ago where I started with massive heart palpitations, called my boss, then collapsed for 2 hours only to be awakened by a CH. I almost thought it was a heart attack, but this explains the Verapamil / Taurine connection:

CAUTIONS

Taurine should not be taken if you are currently on a prescription for Verapamil or any other calcium channel blocker. Until more is learned, it is wise to assume that Taurine may increase the action of Verapamil, which could slow the heart excessively, causing irregular heart beats and possibly a heart attack. It is also not clear if Taurine would interact with other medicines like Sodium Valproate or Lithium.

Peace,
Carl D

Carl, my hubby was advised to stay away from taurine, he takes verapamil.   He misses his chinese buffet all-you-can-eat.

First of all, if all your thread titles are in caps-might be too much caffiene :o
Secondly, what's up with the avoidance of Chinese buffets?  They serve taurine there?

No, not that I know of.  He is on this no salt thing,  and he is sure that the buffet is chock-full of it.  He loves his salads and fruits.   Me, good ole meatloaf and mashed potatoes is where it's at.

Now that's seriously worried me as I'm on high dose verap & been drinking up to a litre of Tesco's Kick most days. I thought I'd be able to keep the level of verap down.

Where did the info come from??

Cheers

btw Carl... I'm liking your micepace page. Gwala wants to be your friend  ;;D
